Monday vs. Friday crowds in May?

Hello, I'm planning a Cedar Point trip this year for sometime in May to take advantage of the smaller crowds due to kids being in school. I can't get too many days off of work, so I'm planning on going on a Monday (5/16 or 5/23) or a Friday (5/13 or 5/20). I'm guessing Fridays will be worse crowd-wise, but how much worse would it be compared to Monday? Is it closer to a weekday crowd or a weekend crowd? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Crowds in May are generally on the lighter side. Only exception would be Memorial Day weekend. You should be good with either Friday or Monday.

Keep in Mind the hours of operation as well.

When CP closes at 8:00 it's barely even dusk out, and those days feel really short.

Fridays they're open until 10pm and they day feels much more complete plus getting some nighttime fun in the park.

(also, look to make sure there aren't any special events like 'math & science week' going on as the park will be busy during school hours with field trips. And the closer you get to June, you are more likely to hit endless busloads of school kids on end of year trips too)

Both great points. I remember going last year during math and science week and there were a ton of high schoolers in the park. Thanks for the input!

Most high school proms are in May, which makes the Mondays unofficial senior skip days. I used to take my birthday off work to go to CP, and the year it fell on a Monday it was easily as busy as the regular season. I haven't gone on a Friday in May though, so I can't compare there. However, my birthday is usually during Math & Science Week, and while that does bring some crowds, it still was never as bad as that Monday (and the school groups tended to leave by 5:00, whereas the senior skippers didn't).
