MM on Sept. 6

I, along with my husband and some friends (including our very own GregLeg) will be there, anyone else?  Maybe we could meet up for a few laps.

I will be there... I should be there around 2:45(to set up) or so and I will be there till closing. From opening till 6 I will be on Magnum... But I will be working the ACE booth/table from 6-9 PM, so stop by and say hi.

I sure will be there that day, and at least one more. Just look for the tall guy in the worlds only once blue now white Millennium Force hat. My class ends at 2:30, so I might make it on time. Probably will end up skipping since its one of those 3 credit hour automatic A classes.

Andrew, what exactly will you be doing at the ACE booth? Do  Acer's get something special? :) I'll be sure to say hi.

Joe, I was asked to help out at the booth(which I belive will be next to Millennium Force's Hot Shots)... They want me to pass out flyers and tell people information on ACE and if I work the booth I get in free... So it isn't a bad deal at all.

Does everyone one have two-way radios?  We could pick a channel and when Dan is getting close to 2000, he could let everyone know so we can be there to cheer him on and join him for a ride.  (This was actually Greg's idea and a good one.)

Thanks, Lori.  If we agree on an FRS channel, and disable the "privacy code" (aka squelch, CTCSS, "talk groups", etc.) then the radios are fully compatible.

(Unfortunately different manufacturers have different ideas on how to use CTCSS, if at all.  Many people don't realize that if you disable the "privacy code" you get ALL transmissions on the channel -- all the privacy code does, if you're using it, is keep YOU from hearing people on the channel NOT using the same code.  People not using a code at all, hear everything.  But in the case of coordinating for Dan's 2000th lap, that's a GOOD thing...)

FRS supports 14 channels; picking a number out of a hat, I suggest channel 9.

So, now that I wrote all that, who has FRS radios?  ;) (In case you're not sure what "FRS", or Family Radio Service is, they're the hand-held short-range radios that are getting to be pretty popular nowadays; brand names include the Motorola TalkAbouts)

I'll be there at 5 too..can we bring balloons and streamers and a cake for Dan? :) Just joking. We should try to get all of us GTTP members on the same train with him on the 2000th ride. Maybe a ride op can take a picture of us for the website.  :)

I'm gonna wait til Friday to go with all thats going on with Force and the fact I have something I need to get done..If force is down the rest of the rides will be a bit heftier on the lines...However i still believe Milly will be back and up by Thur..
