What can I say?? I was like winning the lottery and having the park all to yourself..
You have to admit it pretty funny when the ride ops in the unload area of MF decide to just open the handicap access gate and say "Welcome back riders.. how was your ride??? You knwo the drill, when the train stops remove your seatbelts, push up on your lap bar, go through the gate, get back on and I'll see you in a few minutes."
Managed to get 49 MF rides in (which includded taking a break for food, water and 2 Magnum rides, 1 Power Tower, 1 Raptor, and staying on Mantis for 45mins without getting off) on day was great but I doubt I will add those numbers to my yearly count seeing how this wasn't really a "normal" ride day.
Finally, gotta say hello to a few people real quick..
Nat the Cat - Thanks for letting me see the coaster list outside Magnum while my cousin dissapeared. About time I got to meet you.
Joanna - I PROMISE I'll show up at Louies sometime next week.
Guy in the red shirt on MF - You dissapeared after like 58 rides if I kept my count right.. I'm sure I'll see you again.
Thanks CP for a great time.. BE back on the 15th if not sooner...

Looking for me?? Check The Red Garter...
I too had a blast on day 2! I managed to get 62 rides in on the Force. I rode Mantis once,Power Tower once, and Raptor on the way out. It was funny riding Mantis cause I had the entire train to myself. Well, actually the whole ride cause they were only running one train. That was worth $19!
MF Laps: went from 48 to 110 in 6 hours!

What is this, nobody wanted to ride Mantis?????
That would be cool to stay on the train for 45 min. straight!!!! I am going to HAVE to make plans to go next year if they do this.
CP, PLEASE DO THIS NEXT YEAR TOO!!!!!
Am going to MM next Thurs. and Fri. Do you folks who where there this week,and/or work at the Point think the crowds will be just as light as the last couple of days? Sure hope so...Have only managed 6 rides on MF and Mantis is my second fave B&M (after Kumba). Can't wait...
I don't know if they'll do it again next year.. So far, turnout has been rather light.. I think it's a great idea but you have to wonder how much of this low attendance they will accept before they decide that it's not worth the cash.
Lord I hope not...

CPMaster...
What were you wearing?? Chances are we crossed paths a few dozen times if not rode together... I was the tall geeky guy in the black shirt and shorts..
Sorry for the personal post.. tried your email on your INFO link and it bounced...
Just curious if we crossed paths..

Mine yesterday were bought at the gate... Just received the ones I ordered from the site today.. Ordered them on Tues... Of course I only live like 45 mins away.. Just did it because it was easy.
5pm??? Don't know.. But seeing how the turnout has been for the last few days.. I wouldn't imagine it's a problem unless everyone starts to show up just because of the reports being that there is no-one in the park.

I was the short guy wearing a blue Oly Navy shirt with pants. I remember for most of the time you were always two rides ahead of me. But, them you went on a break and I caught up.
*sighs* PEOPLE SHHHH, dont let everyone know the park is empty on MM! LOL
Maybe CP can only have 2 days of MM next year so that the low attendance isn't over 5 days. Just a thought.
I don't think telling everyone at CP Place about the park being empty is going to make that big of a difference, it's not like hundreds of additional people will be flocking to CP because of that :)

I know. That's why it was meant to be a joke. :)
think about it guys...only half the park is open, if that. it's FIVE rides, which means only FIVE crews, a few food stands, front gate people and a few parking lot guys and security. how much can it REALLY cost them to do this?? can't be much compared to the daily operation of the WHOLE place...and it might take a few years for this to catch on with the GP...and they DID say the purpose of this was to allow for minimum people, maximum rides and that's what they got. plus, could it be they are trying to make it up to everyone about TTR and all???

I'm sure the cost of replacing wheels on The Force is enough cost... but who knows.

yah, that's true, Jeff....hadn't thought of that, but still, the money they AREN'T putting out in payroll ALONE should at least cover SOME of that, don't you think?? maybe i'm way off base here...

I figured the reason that Raptors line was so short was because everyone was riding MF, we were letting people reride on Raptor thats how light it was on Friday. Which actually considering that was my 1st day as a ride op made it easier and better for me not stressing out with tons of people.
Thinking about doing the MM thing Thursday
not sure yet.....
cant do it Friday since SOME of us ride ops have to work so some of yous can enjoy MM!
(and I will have to say that if my bestest riding bud wants to do Banshee on MM we will be there!)
Coastermania anyone???

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
Was it just me, or were there a lot of people PUKING on rides that day? It seemed like Raptor got it every other ride. WE even got stuck on Mantis because they had to wash the car down in front of us. Hmmm...
Oh so true. Most of the ops on Raptor and Mantis looked more like firemen that day; carting the hoses back and forth. :)
