Minor forum upgrade

Jeff's avatar

Just thought you might like to know that I made a minor fourm upgrade tonight that (hopefully) fixes the problems associated with the rich text editor that appears for Windows Ineternet Explorer users. The biggest problem was that cutting and pasting from, well, anything, tanked your post and made it unreadable. We'll see how it goes the next week or so.

Well, looky there...it seems to work! No more arm-wrestling with multiple edits when quoting another poster! As Dieter would say...

Ignore this - test

I think I'll probably still use the plain text editor sometimes, I hope he keeps it in the software. If not, that's okay too, but I just like to make sure things are written my own way sometimes..

v6.0 is about as solid as it gets... I haven't been able to break it yet. Because of some little things going on with the UI in general in that version, you'll get the rich editor no matter what if you're using IE. Of course, if it ain't broken, I think that's better anyway. In that version, using things like ctrl-b for bold actually works, too!

You'll be happy to know that even in the rich text editor, you can type out the quote pseudo-tags and it will parse them correctly.

Did I break it? On the last post I made, it screwed up the URL in my sig. (I guess we'll see if it does it again...)

I post using the plain-text box as opposed to the rich post box, in case you're wondering.

You didn't break it, but you did find a valid URL character I forgot to include. Back to the code I go...

That was easy... your URL should appear correctly from now on.

Testing... 1, 2, 0, 4

Works good Jeff :)
