Mine Ride enclosure idea

What if the helix part of the coaster at the end were totally enclosed? Going around like that in the complete darkness would add something new. Just saying.

Or, you could just close your eyes and it leave it alone for the rest of us.

I know. Have the train stop just before the helix, where a worker could offer the chance to put on VR headsets. The riders will be immersed in a lifelike scenario taking coaster-riding to limits never thought possible!

As the coaster enters the helix, those brave ride warriors with the courage to don the magical visors will hear a flushing sound, and soon will finally get to experience what it's like to get flushed down a working latrine. Soar beneath the water as you are forced down a whirlpool into the impending darkness. Dodge human waste as you race for your life to a place where no person has traveled before.

Riders will have the option of actually flushing their VR headsets down an actual toilet after exiting the ride.

Or, you know...just close your eyes and leave it alone for the rest of us.

I enjoy the enclosed helix on The Beast, so I wouldn't mind if they enclosed the CCMR helix.

On the other hand, it ain't broke, so why fix it?

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

I always thought that simple theming elements along the ride would be a nice addition. I always think of how awesome SFOT's mine train is, just because of the awesome theming that it has:

That POV make that ride seem like a total snooze.

The scenery that stuck out most to me was: concrete walls, chain link fence, steel coaster track and what six flags wouldn't be complete without asphalt and rubber tires laying around.

Kings island mine ride seems to have better theming to me, even with the most anticlimactic ending of a ride ever constructed.

The Kings Island mine ride is probably my favorite outside of Disney. The final lift that leads to nothing just adds to the fun!

Adventure Express sure is unique and my son and I liked the fact that it is one of the only rides we've been on where the lift hill is at the end. To top it all off the stone drummer guys with one arm moving just add more fun to the equation for sure.

Kings Islands coaster designers have really done great things using the natural terrain of the park in their layouts. CP is such a flat mass of land, there's really no terrain change. But the views of the lake and bay are stupendous.

I think the straight-track areas of CCMR could be enclosed and have scenes with Boneville characters. The double helix at the end could be enclosed to look like the train was going into a mine.

If they spend any money on CCMR it should be for updated trains first and foremost. Besides, CCMR already has theming; you pass through a tool shed as you leave the station.

ROUNDABOUND.

I think the great scenery around CCMR is good enough, no need whatsoever to build structures over it and block the views. I think it is a more than welcome change of scenery from the rest of the park.

It does seem a little silly that a mine ride coaster doesn't go underground...

Maybe it's a strip mine.

That's a good video. There is no valid reason why Cedar Point couldn't spend a few extra parking bucks to spiff up a classic ride or two.

Right!? I've never taken a lift chain only to wind up being dumped off right back at the station.

I disagree. Adventure Express offers one of the most original and imaginative--and therefore interesting--endings ever constructed for a roller coaster.

Mine ride is just right for the little kids. Even my son that really dislikes the coasters due to vertigo will ride this. My six year old has started telling me not to worry that he will ride it with his siblings since I can't fit the trains without painfully twisting my legs into a pretzel.

It may be perfect for little kids, but the height requirement isn't really helping that.

CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium

The 48" height requirement definitely takes Mine Ride out of anything I'd call great for Little Kids.
