Millie Island

Ok...after hearing what you guys have to say bout it in the threads, Seeing the numerous pieces of track, and the biggest thing of all seeing the construction layout, I think it's safe to say Mille Island will have a new inhabitant.....#16.......If you go to www.virtualmidway.com you can see the layout of construction....It includes Millie Island...And after some logical thinking from some other people on this site the power "lines" if you will from #16 are going to go And hook up with the WT power generator. Sorry all of you who were set on the L-TH-B theory...

THE EVIDENCE IS THERE!! YOU JUST HAVE TO FIND IT!

I agree 100%!!! It's good to know that i'm not the only one who thinks that millie island will be used!!!
i doubt it will be used, but here is a thought....
http://www.virtualmidway.com/mystery/mapa.jpg

Look at all that space they could use for this ride, if they just build an L-TH-B, all that space would be wasted for other coasters because it would be too small to build a good coaster. why not just make this ride longer and extend it out there. it would be really careless of CP to just throw that land away. another thing, if walt put up the shaded area to the island, it could go there. He is probably one of the people "in the Know". also there are mounds of dirt there.

What does the origin of the power lines prove about the layout?

Secondly, there's not a single piece of the 'numerous' pieces of track onsite that couldn't fit in a L-TH-B.

Finally, the only reason a part of MF island is highlighted on the map is because there were damming part of the lagoon, which has been explained as necessary for footer-pouring...for the L-TH-B.

This 'evidence' is nothing of the sort.

mk468zz.......All I was stating about the power lines is that they aren't going over to Millie Island and that takes away from saying that is why it shows construction there. And where In the hell do you see more room for this ride to be put in the picture? And if what you are saying is true then fine, but I think you're wrong. They drained the lagoon so they can get heavy machienary (EX. CRANES, TRACK, SUPPORTS) over there. This isn't going to be a L-TH-B.....I will put money on it.....So go head make my day! J/P

I gotta agreea with CCGuy! CP would never waste space considering they barely have any now-a-days anyway. And why couldn't CP just expand the construstion area. They already did once, cause the map on VM.com didn't used to have the as much of the lagoon on it. L TH B is not CP's style, they go with the big, record breaking rides and never disapoint their fans with construction.
OK, I'll say it: CEDAR POINT DOES NOT HAVE A SPACE PROBLEM. Good Grief, haven't you ever been told to LOOK OUT OF THE BOX?

There is no space problem. Live with it and find something else to ***** about.

"If we go any faster, she'll blow apart for sure!"

I keep seeing people saying they don't have a space problem, but where is all of this space? If they expand into the parking lot or camper village? I don't see where they can fit another big coaster like MF or even a smaller one like Raptor. I'll have to try and find an aerial photo so I know for sure.
I know CP can always find more room but if you are eating a pizza and finish half, do you waste it and buy a new one if you want more? You don't waste what you have to look for more. It's common sense.
Pizzas....

Superman: Ride Of Steel-
almost as good as Millennium Force
Look at all the space on that location map. I think that cp will use all of the space that they are given. Although, all the other space could be for the lines.
Small like Raptor? When did Raptor get small!!?

I think he meant the area, because raptor is packed in there tightly. I guess the designed it so that it would fit around all the other things in that area.

did they fill in the area between millie island and where chaos used to be? because if they did it wouldn't be called millie island anymore. it will be millie peninsula.

Cedar Point...my anti-drug
shhhhhhhhhhh it a secret...
One question about Millie Island/Penninsula? How will PWE be "revamped"? Does this mean a new canal cut through Millie Island? I'm not sure where a new canal would fit, if there is to be one. It is possible the lagon was infilled for construction only. That scenario may be borne out by the picture of the infill with the steel pilings still in the ground. One would think if a canal were to be permanently infilled, they would pull the sheet piling.

Has anyone looked at the map to see how this might work? It may give additional clues to if there is to be any more to this new ride.

Dont worry the original canal path is still there. Millie Island is still an island....except if you count where it is connected to the rest of Cedar Point by way of 2 temporary dams. What they did was fill in a small portion of the lagoon where they used to park the Paddlewheel boats. Thats all. I suspect thats probably all that the dams were for.
Sheet piling rarely get pulled out. It's hard to get in and harder to get out. They would just cut it off below grade if it was no longer needed.
This topic (Millenium Island for the new coaster) is OLD news. I was the first (9/15/02) person to tell everyone that there would definitely NOT be any construction going on the island for the new coaster and what the lagoon was being "dammed" for. Most of my input has come true and if you've visited CP, you know I'm right. .I'm glad I've converted some of you but aparrently not all. My advice, go to the Point, look at the island and tell me what you see. A big pile of dirt, big deal. I've got one sentence for the "Millenium Island footer people": Revamping of Paddlewheel Excursions for next year. End of story.
CPFan76, not to be rude, but How the hell are you going to Revamp the PWE right under the supports for the MF. I'm not saying its going to go overthere, but still.
