Millennium Mania ??'s

I might get the business for this one but it might save me some $$. I understand that MM has only so many tickets sold. Is this true? I received the news letter which suggested that I purchase my tickets online and that they limit the number of people in the park. It also said you can purchase tickets at the gate. Would they really turn people away at the gate? I guess the bottom line I am getting at is do they really limit the number of people in the park and is it worth it. My impression of what CP is saying is that there is little to no wait for any of the rides that are available.
I haven't been privileged enought to attend Millennium Mania, but my understanding is that they do absolutely limit the number of tickets (not sure how they do this with on-line sales, however), and that it makes a tremendous difference -- walk-ons all the way. I wish I could go! :)

I don't recall anybody saying they where denied a ticket last year.  But then again, I think the crowds where less the CP would have liked.  The two times I went I purchased my tickets at the gate.

When you buy a ticket online it's good for any day so I don't know how CP will know if a day is sold out. It's interesting that on the web site the mention the capacity of the 5 rides is 9,800 an hour.  So if they consider a 1/2 hour wait resonable, they might allow 4,900 people per day.  Last year there couldn't have been more then 1,000 on the days I went.

Thanks a lot. You just made up my mind.
It will be interesting to see how much more crowded it is this year, seeing as last year no one really liked the idea until they found out how really short the lines were. That, of course, will encourage more people to go, making the lines longer. Catch-22!

This will be my first year going to MM, I purchased my  tix online, we are going for the first two days, and you don't have to specify which date you will be attending, all four dates are on the back of the tix, so how can they know how many people will be there on any given day??                    I hope it all works out, i wanna ride MF at least 15 times a day.....woo-hoo!
Oh you'll be able to ride Millennium more than 15 times each day. There were some of us last year who rode it 60+ times in one day!

I wouldn't go in with any expectations of a certain number of rides.  Yes, last year was great (personally I get 14 on MF, 10 on Magnum, 8 on Raptor, 1 on Mantis, and I forget how many on Power Tower, but a bunch).

However, last year MM was very lightly attended.  They're advertising it more this year -- I'd expect more crowds.

Will it be a good time?  I'm sure it will.

I was unable to purchase my tickets online so I will arrive at noon to purchase them at the gate. Hopefully they will have enough to let me inside :)

Be there through the thick and thin.

Listen to Greg, people. Last year was great, but I fear this year will be a bit busier.

Not to fear, though. The conversation in the queues will be very good, considering the group that will be attending! :)

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

The first timers are going to thrilled with the short waits compared to the regular season. It will get you spoiled in a hurry.

But last year I went on one of the days that it rained (it killed two hours of the six) and I still got in 25 (dry) laps on MF and several spins on the others. My longest wait was about 4 trains for MF. It was even shorter after the rain cleared out. But even though I expect to see larger crowds for this years event, I will be surprised if there is more than a 15 minute wait.

But I will go in with no expectations other than to have a great time. I will be heading out on the 7th. Hope to see you there.

Ain't it neat to have your butt out of the seat.

Wow, I'm loving all this info., thanks everyone. I think we will devote one whole day to MF.....less than a week to go....
Can you get in with Season Passes or do you have to buy tickets?  I guess it doesn't affect me, because my MA Season Pass expires on the third!
You need to buy tickets, even if you have a Season Pass.  However, Season Passers do a get a $5 discount (I'm not sure if you need a CP pass or just a CF park pass though...).

Hey Gang, Here's An Idea. If Millennium Force Is Not Ready For MM On Thursday, They Could Always Open Mean Streak Instead, Then You'll Know Where To Find Me :)

Mikey

Actually, they're going to open Blue Streak instead.

Only problem with that Mikey is the amount of space between Magnum and MS.. if you noticed last year. They block off the area just past the Garter, Magnum, and the entire east side of the main midway so they don't have to worry abotu GP running around in those areas.

The space behind magnum to MS would mean basically.. the whole park would be open and would require alot more staffing.. staffing they may not have availiable..
