Millennium Mania!?

Go to the offical site, theres a new link on it. The link is a new logo with the MF swiggle with the words "Your Invited to Millennium Mania" The link however is not active. Does anyone have any leads as to what this is?

It says something about 5 Best rides for 6 nights only so it may mean some kind of special event.
The link is up now. It sounds pretty cool. I guess one of these nights could be the official meeting for GTTP.

The dates are as follows: September 6,7,8,13,14&15, 4-10 p.m.
Its a great idea, I don't see who is going to go to it. There are two groups of people who *would* go; the locals and the enthusiasts. Both groups all have season passes and our season passes will not be valid on those days. Why would these people pay to ride rides that they could ride for free any other time of the season.

I suppose the concept is good, but I'm certainly not going to pay $19 for just a few rides when I can ride the weekend before and after.

If season pass holders had a day like this for no charge, we might have a good idea :)

Sounds like the park is trying to make up some lost ground on attendance this year :) It's the Wed-Fri of the two weeks following Labor Day. School is back in session. By normal amusement park GP trends, the park should be empty (and would be because CP is usually on Bonus Weekends at this time). For the low, low price for $20 you can ride the heck out of Magnum, Raptor, and if you please, Mantis and Power Tower. MF will probably have typical lines so one or two laps is not out of the question. Basically, it's the event that Coastermania _should_ be, but streteched over six inconvenient nights for those of us that live more than an hour away.

Personally, I like this idea, but only if they take season passes. But due to the fact that staffing is way down at that time, any more guests in the park other than walk-ups would be disasterous.

Doesn't Halloweekends start up on Sept 22 this year? Interesting that the park is now open every Fri-Sun from May to October.

How many times have you heard someone say "The ride on MF is worth the price of admission" and also look at what some places charge for "rides" especially out in Vegas where it is roughly $8 to $10 PER RIDE.
If the weather is nice, I'll drop the $19.00 to ride the 5 rides unlimited for the evening.
It seems no matter what CP TRIES... they get Flamed. This could be a GREAT event.
Hope to see some of you on the midway.
I'm trying to decide if this would be worth leaving work early on one of these days, and drive 3 hours for this. I'm leaning towards yes, but it will obviously depend on the weather. When you make the RSVP online, do you have to specify a date?

I think they might be a little greedy. Sure it worked for AAA day, but we were all anxious to get on that damn ride! At this point, I don't see the season pass holders flowing in.

NO SEASON PASSES excepted for these added dates!
That makes me MAD! I bought my season pass so I could go whenever I wanted, without having to pay for admission. I can understand if it's a company renting the park out, but not something like this.

I think it stinks you can't use your season passes for this but overall I like the idea of the event!! Like Dan said..only the locals and us coaster freaks will mainly be interested but with MF's popularity this yr..you just never know!! Luckily I was just given 4 tics from a local radio station friend that I was gonna give to another friend of mine to use but heck..now I'll keep them and use them for this!! However I'm not guranteed to get in it sounds like with the tics I have..Only those sold on the website are Guarenteed to get you in!!

Well, while I would love to see season passes accepted, the operating dates and hours were no secret when you purchased the pass. If they want to add additional dates for whoever, that's their prerogative.

Your season pass is good for those operating days which were announced when you bought your pass. That means daily May 13-September 4, and September 9, 10, 16, 17, 22-24, 29-30, October 1, 6-8, and 13-15. If it is good on any other days, that's a bonus. If the park adds operating days other than those promised with the pass, they are under no obligation to accept the pass for those days.

(Dave glances at the calendar)
Hey! No September buy-out this year???

I just read the info about this and it looks like fun to me. I'll be there!
If they had like, a season pass day, or 2 days, I would definatly be up for it. I get off of school at 3 (typical high school) so I could just hop in a car and go, but I just don't feel like dishing out $19 extra bucks.
