So after doing a marathon on Millennium Force this past Friday I had to come to this forum and ask...
Does anyone besides me notice that Millennium is starting to develop a rattle? It isn't making the ride rough or anything but it got to the point where I had to stop riding it because I developed a splitting headache. The front seat was fine on both the red and blue trains but I noticed the closer I sat towards the back and especially in the back seat both trains definitely had a rattle. So much so that I noticed the lady in the seat in front of me of me rocking from side to side from it (it was rather funny seeing her little body move so fast from side to side like that). Just though I would share and get some thoughts about it.
The green train from Millennium landed under Magnum and that is what is causing Magnum to sink!!!

Sounds to me like it's riding a bit rough. It it wasn't, I wouldn't imagine you'd get that headache.
I know there is one while going up the lift hill, but that is from dirt and such falling.
Leave the hypercoaster alone
I have noticed that on Yellow train the most. I'm sure the other trains rattle, but Yellow is the one that seems like it rattles the most.
Probably just the wheels, but I rode on it all weekend and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
To me yellow train is the most pronounced. I think it is more of a vibration that causes the sheet metal on the train to rattle around. Haven't felt roughness, just hear the noise.
I noticed this too. However it did not stop me from riding it 16 times. I noticed it was worse right around the end of the first overbank on the island.
Normal at the end of the season for the rides to start roughening up. Has happened every year on many of the rides as far as I can remember, especially Maverick and MF.
One year Maverick got unbearable the last few weekends. I just simply avoided it. The start of the next season it was all good again.
Weather, wheel condition, the spring assemblies, etc... All factor in with how it runs.

Yellow train is by far the worst. Unfortunately when the transfer gate is open and you're riding it 10-20 times you can get stuck on the same train over and over, I think I rode yellow like 7 times straight on the first HW friday.
Red seems to be the smoothest, followed by blue. Last year, blue was smoothest and red was worse, with yellow in the middle. I think it's really just random based on how things wear over the season.

That's what I am thinking. Does the same thing on I305. Give MF a break... I mean it is 13 years old and it is a 90+ mph coaster!!!!
Millennium Force is an inanimate object. It can handle criticism.
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
I have noticed that on any train the second seat of any car tends to shake a bit after coming out of the over bank turns. I tend to head for the 1st seat for this reason unless the gate is open. Then I take whatever seat is open so I can get on the train in front of the one I just got off of, and no I don't run to through the gate! ;-)

Clearly the MF has feelings, and is apparently crying and whining like a baby. Why else would it have a little rattle?
She's shaking from worry. Worry about a bigger and better coaster at Carowinds that would replace her with.
