Millennium Force in the RAIN

Come to think of it Mean Streak ran all the time in the rain in 1991. Could that be becouse of the lack of trims?

Dispatch Master, This is Transport one! I'm losing control, I'm losing control!
That might be true, Rideman, about MeanStreak running good in the rain. After a rain delay, friends and I rode it and I was surprised cause it was actually a *good* ride. After we return to the station the ride op had asked us how was our ride and almost everyone screamed. So, maybe thats it you have to drench MeanStreak in order to receive a good ride, I guess...hehehe!
The only coaster I have been on in the rain (a hard rain) is the Double Loop at SFO. Man, did it hurt. I felt like someone was shooting bb's at me. It would have to be excruciating on MF.
The first, and only time I have ridden Millennium Force, it started raining right before we boarded, and continued thoughout the ride. While I loved the ride, and will be going back this week to ride it again, I can say with authority that those raindrops HURT!!! Well, at least when they're smacking you in the face at that speed...

By the same token, it's much more pleasant than the bugs smacking you in the face in the front seat of Magnum...
I have had the privledge of riding front seat durring the rain many times (mostly durring testing after the rollback). Its a very painfull yet pleasureable experience. To be honest, you get the same pain riding at night with those bloody bugs as it is in the rain.
One hint - Unless you want to create a "Millennium Force Bug Shirt"(which I've done), dont wear anything white at night if your in the front, otherwise you'll find many friends that you've pickedup on the way.
By the way - Snake River Falls is NOT supposed to stay open in the rain. Even if there is a light sprinkle Snake goes down. The reason is our photo eyes. Boat backups and ghost boats caused by the rain are not good. Also we have to keep a constant water-level and usually within 5 minutes into a light sprinkle we have high water, and the ride shuts down. And when a loaded boat get stuck at chute, the guests aren't too thrilled. Why do I know this? Because I work on the ride.

Jeffrey Spartan: I too rode front at night, early, in May and I thought it was raining because of the impact I felt on my skin. I sick at the fact that it was bugs! I was screaming the whole time so many "raindrops" or bugs flew in my mouth. YUCK!
