During my first trip to Cedar Point August 10 & 11, it seemed to me that the lines for Millenium Force always exceeded those of Top Thrill Dragster ... which surprised me, since TTD is so much more of a harrowingly thrilling ride. In fact, during our two days we only waited the hour-plus for MF once -- other than our two 9:00 am resort-only rides with no lines. We did, however, ride TTD 8 times with usually 30-45 minute waits.
Is this typical? Are some MF riders afraid of TTD? Personally, I (and my 11- and 12-year-old sons) appreciated TTD much more.
Well when i went MF was closed, but the lines for TTD were 45 mins tops, but 1½ hours for the front.

I'll accept that, considering the much longer ride time of MF. In fact, my boys often said they wish TTD would jump tracks after spiralling down the 420-foot drop and finish with a two-minute run on the MF track. (How about it, Intamin?)
Wow, that would be a fun ride! haha
But like Davey420 put it, Millennium Force is just a more enjoyable ride. Its got a longer course, more diverse course, and its just an all around more fun ride (I know thats just an opinon...but it is the Best Steel Coaster in the World! haha)

I would wait forever for MF however I would only wait a couple hours for TTD. Millennium Force has great everything. I just absofrickinlutely love those airtime hills to death. They're the bestest things by an infinity amount out of all the bestest things ever. Just pure zero gravity for what seems like an eternity. Nothing is better. If you can't tell yet, I really like MF and its airtime hills even more.

I've waited for Millie over 325 times. I would wait twice that amount just to ride it 325 times. That is how much better Millie is than TTD. Don't get me wrong TTD is a great adrealine rush, but it just doesn't have the same effect Millie does. Thats Just my opinion but I feel TTD was a huge DISAPPOINTMENT.

I agree with you CrazyCoasterGuy about the effect of Millie vs TTD. I usually like to get to the park early morning to ride it twice, once in front, then once in back, before the line gets too long. Don't get me wrong, I like TTD, but I as well don't see the point of waiting up to 2 hrs. for a 18 sec. ride. The line for TTD would be shorter in the morning if they would fully load the trains from the beginning instead of leaving the back 4 seats unoccupied. Why do they do that anyway?
Top Thill Dragster is a better ride. You get that awesome breathtaking launch, the great floating sensation over the top of the hill, and a near freefall of 400 feet. I know that Millennium Force is also a fantastic ride, but after the first hill its just a fast cruise through the trees. Don't get me wrong I love Millennium Force, but I love Top Thrill Dragster more.

I agree completely, Adam. Much like Mamba at KC's Worlds of Fun, or Appolo's Chariot at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Millenium Force is a smooth rush up and down some big hills ... nowhere near the punch-in-the-gut shock of Top Thrill Dragster. I think I appreciate the backwards drop and inversions of Six Flags St. Louis' Mr. Freeze (although its been a few years since I've ridden it).
Did you REALLY just compare Millennium with Appolo's Chariot? Two COMPLETELY different rides with two COMPLETELY different reasons they are made. Appolo's Chariot is a joke. One of the worst coasters I've ever rode. Expect for the BRIEF airtime you get over the 3 hills the ride is horrible. Wasn't made for enjoyment just for a "notch on the belt" for Busch Garden's. They should stick to Beer. But that is your opinion Brad and I'm not going to completely tear it apart so I'll leave it at that.

I will say that TTD is worth a 45 minute wait at the MOST. And that is if you haven't ridden it in awhile. TTD can be passed up and rode only 2 or 3 times a year. But Millennium is a traditional coaster, with all out fun and speed. It would have to be rode at the least 10 times a season by a season pass holder. I mean 45 minutes to and hour is about the average wait time this year right? I feel that that is WELL worth the expierence.

I was at BGE today and the waits for AC and Alpie were about 5-10 minutes. In my opinion, thats about the time they are worth waiting for. MF on the other hand is worth an hour wait and TTD is worth about a 30-45 minute wait.
The reason BGE has such short ride lines is because that park is not a park for thrill seekers. That in my mind is one of the nicest THEMED parks around except for the obvious Disney franchise. BGE has only 4 coasters and that is the down side to it. I wouldn't agree with you saying that AC and Alpine are worth 10-15 mins. Maybe AC, b/c that ride isn't the greatest in the world. It really is a one trick pony and isn't even good at that. Alpine is in my opinion one of the best of its kind. I would have to rank it 4th out of all the flyers i've ridden. I would think a 30 minute wait would be just fine but no more than a 45 min. wait. But that will never happen, b/c that park is there more for the "older" crowd or families to go out and enjoy the day. Not to mention their outragious price to get into the park. For the price it is WAY not worth it.
Just My 2 Cents....
