Millenium Force Speeds/G-Forces

Does anyone know where I can find a more detailed lists of speeds and g forces of the millenium force? I am really just looking for speeds and g forces at the tops and bottoms of the big hills. If anyone knows this information that would be great.

That is some data I collected for a class. The blue is the ride height and the dark line is the acceleration. I don't think I have a scale for the graph, but you can get a good idea of the forces at different points on the ride.

^ Nice.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get the data?

I took a summer class at the University of Michigan on the physics of rollercoasters. We went to the park and rode rides with an accelerometer. It was in a fanny pack and and recorded acceleration on all 3 axis (x, y, z). Since it would be impossible to line the accelerometer up with the track (as in x pointing in the direction you're traveling), we added them all together to get the magnitude. The fanny pack also had a barometer which we used to get the height measurements.

If you're wondering, the black arrows point to 0 acceleration, or weightlessness.

Back in the day when I was around 13 years of age I emailed Cedar Point to ask what was the max G's, and they replied back "No coaster in our park has G's that go over 3.5"(or something to that effect. That was a long time ago if I remember correctly it was something like that.

I did hear that Mantis pulls about 4 to 5 Gs. How true that is I have no clue.

^..I would think not because thats almost as much as Dragsters 5 G's and it feels nothing like it.

Is it true that one millenium force train weighs 19 tons? 38,000 pounds seems a little heavy for a roller coaster train.

Dragster does not pull 5 G's. Not even close. If I recall correctly the launch is about 1.5 G's, sustained for a couple of seconds.

At one point, the strongest G's in the park were pulled on Wildcat around 4, for a fraction of a second. That wasn't a sophisticated measurement, but one performed by students on a physics day.

^I wouldn't doubt that. Wildcat does have some nice forces every once in a while.

TTD probably only pulls 1.5 acceleration G's, but I'll bet it's awfully close to 5 vertical G's going into and coming off the tower.

Millennium Pulls alot of G's. I'm not sure how many but I sure feel them when I ride. I even start to grey out sometimes.

I think the highest G forces can be felt on maXair, at least, that's last I heard.
