Millenium Force Speed...

We all know MF tops out at 92, maybe 93 mph...and that it sustains alot of speed throughout the entire ride, that's what makes it such a great coaster IMO. My question, does anyone know for sure just how fast the train is going as it flys by the station and into the final turn? It's still hauling butt, but is it possible for it to still be going 90 (from a physics standpoint)?

I strongly doubt that it is still going 90 when it passes by the loading station. There is quite a bit of resistance that is placed of the train as it runs thru the course. You have the rolling resistance of the wheels on the track and the biggest is the wind resistance on the train and the riders in the train. I'm sure that are some other forces that also slow it down.

But when I rode it back it May, I would estimate its speed to be around 40-45 mph as it passes the loading station. It seems alot faster due to the fact that it passes so close to you. But its still moving along at a pretty good clip considering that its just gone thru 6000 feet of track.

Ain't it neat to have your butt out of the seat.
All I know, is that at the bottom of the third hill, it is going an excess of 70mph.
Maybe I should bring my old baseball radar next time i'm there? I could get speed at different spots at different times throughout the day. Just a thought.

That would be cool. I'm sure there are alot of people who would be interested in the results. Be sure to post them if you ever do!
