Midway Side Launch?

From the new virtual midway pictures, it appears to me that this coaster will launch from the midway because of the formation of the upward supports. On Xcellerator this seemed to be the case, but also the brake did the same. Does anyone think that means there will be more than just the L-TH-B because the supports on the other side seem flat... Just a few questions...

Yes, midway launch. Very probable that it will be a L:TH:B. Is that really so bad?

Depends. Some people love speed and height above all else. I'm sure they'll love the ride. Others might prefer unique elements, ride time, inversions, lenghtly layout...they'll be more disappointed.

What the hell do you want from the park? Do you think that they cater to the needs of the enthusiats? Hell no!

Anyone who isn't happy with a new coaster, especially of this magnitude, no matter the length, needs to think about the parks that haven't received a new coaster in 5+ years. If you think the park owes you something, you're vastly mistaken.

This wasn't only directed towards you, Big D, but anyone who thinks that CP is doing them an injustice by not adding a couple overbanks to the ride. Now I understand why some people think that CP fans are spoiled.

Well I just got back from SFDL and the only ride worth to wait for is Superman which is the newest coaster there (atleast I got on it 14 times), and is going into it's 5th season. While CP is getting its second coaster in 2 years. So, actually I would be happy with anything. Also, I don't think any one should be complaining cause CP's 16th coaster is too short for them. It's just my opinion.

The reason why I initially questioned whether it would be just L-TH-B was because it appeared that the lagoon side wasn't angled but rather level. Since the break run on Xcellerator seemed to be on an angle, I wondered if perhaps there might be something else, but obviousley I have not seen the site for 3 weeks so I defer to everyone who has seen it.

From what I saw, it looks like there will be some kind of hill on the way down.

The angle that the track comes off on the down side is lower than supports further down the area.

I've noticed that too. Maybe not a hill, it could be that the track banks away from the brake run and then returns after a few more elements.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

Cp Bound, you need to chill. I don't think anyone here thinks CP owes them anything. Do you honestly expect people not to talk about the layout if it is only L, TH, B ?
for waht this is worth i noticed in a picture from the power tower in another thread the way the trac is coming off the tower..not assemtrical (SP) that the all red side will be the launch..it would give the rear strut of the triangle in position to absorb more of the trust power to make it stronger..then it woul be the other side to just come back to earth..any way just my 2 cents
Winston306, you obviously didn't read the post of the guy that I was replying to (who evidently deleted his own post), but he basicly said that if it didn't have anything after the top hat, that the ride would suck. Supposedly, he thinks that people won't care about the launch or height...

I don't think ride length should be a concern. It's going to deliver the same exact thrill if it's 2,000ft or 5,000. (leaning toward 2,000, though). My only question is how much of a bottle-neck will the new coaster create? Especially if the entrance is near the corckscrews and PT entrance.

I have to say that I'm one who believes the ride will be more than a L-TH-B. For one, there is visible construction on the island, two there are markings on the midway (but could be for utilities or something else), and three, there is a lot of dirt being moved around on the ID side of the work site.

Besides, you have to remember, a lot of people have said that MF's layout is boring, and that's not just comming from enthusiasts. Sure Millie's height and speed are good enough for me, but most people like to have other elements, and I think that has to be considered. That's the only reson Magnum stayed #1 for so long after its height record has been smashed.

I've never heard one person called MF's layout boring from the GP.

If you're thinking it's still going to be more than just L-TH-B, go take a look at how much track is laying around...

Did I miss something? Did CP announce that all the track for the new ride has been delivered and is on the peninsula? I didn't think so.
