Midway Music

I know Dan had a simular post like this a couple years ago and I can't find it so going to ask this again. I got myself a CD burner (and installed it all by myself! woo hoo!) and want to make a "CP" cd. This is where I need your help.
Now, I'm not asking about the Banshee music, for some odd reason I know all those songs (proving I've ridden that thing just far too much! :)) I am interested in the music we hear ALL day/night long on the midway and on some of the lines. I can only remember Smooth and Love Shack and can NOT remember any others. I am sure that has to do with trying to block it out! But now I want to know. Funny thing is I remember all the Halloweekend music but maybe cause I worked there then and HAD to listen to it all day and night!
Help!!!

We went over for a little while Tuesday evening. While walking through the main entrance plaza, I heard the "Get to the Point" song. Talk about a blast from the past.

I know that Brooks & Dunn's "Neon Moon" is on the Frontier Trail... I've got that CD, and the song always reminds me of Cedar Point when I can't be there.
Are you sure it is "Neon Moon?" I've heard "My Maria" by Brooks & Dunn all the time, but never heard "Neon Moon".

Imagine how annoying it is at 4 AM when you're working on the Trail and someone forgot to turn it off for the night :)

I must've heard "I'm proud to be an American." twenty times when I was there in July.

I also heard many oldies on the midway, too. For example: Gimme' Some Lovin'.

And you can't forget the polkas on Schwabinchen and the calypso music on... well, what else but Calypso. :)

How can you forget "Love Shack", "Zoot Suit Riot", and "Funkytown". I always hear those about 5 times each every time I'm at CP. "YMCA" is very popular in the lines, and I've also heard U2's "Elevation" and Europe's "Final Countdown" several times this year.

Who finally met the infamous Magnum Dan!

I always hear "Respect" when walking by Johnny Rocket's, never fails. Also, "Rock Lobster" is a mainstay when in the park during HalloWeekends.

How about DMB - "Ants Marching" :) Bananarama -"Venus",

Yeah, definately DMB. It seems like I hear the same 3 songs over and over. We usually count how many times a day we hear Ants Marching, but sometimes get the count confused with how many mullets we've seen all day.

Hoping to work at The Point in '03 so I too can get drunk and pee on VertiGo

They play a lot of Aaron Copeland's music, though more so last year than this. I'm sure that if you get one of his numerous "best of" discs, you'll recognize many of the tunes as midway music. Sousa is another popular one, you have all heard his music on the midway, and a disc such as "Sousa Favorites" by the Paul Washington Marching Band (Premiere Music) is a virtual treasure trove of park music.

While there really isn't a "Snoopy song", there is a disc from GRP records called "Happy anniversary, Charlie Brown". This disc does have the familiar "Linus and Lucy" (the song most generally associated with the Peanuts characters) as well as the version of "Little Birdie" by Joe Williams that is in fact the version played at the park.

As to rock & roll, "Great Balls of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis is a tune frequently heard around the park.

Their is A disc by Vince Guaraldi titled "OH Good Grief" which has Linus & Lucy as well as other songs that he did that were popular from the cartoon.

I must've heard "Whip It" By Devo 5 times when I was there this past week.

Don't Fight It-Ride It!

Here's some more: Mariah Carrey - "Dream Lover", Maxi Priest - "Close to You", George Benson - "Give Me the Night", Van Morrison - " Moon Dance". I think they play some of Mark Antoine's music as well, but I don't know my way around his stuff that well.
