Midway Market

Has anyone eaten at the Midway Market this year? Is the food and service good?

Last year was my first time that I ate there. I thought the food and service were good.

We ate there opening weekend. I thought the service was great and the food was very good for the price.

I love their apple pie, but I better stay away if I want to keep riding MF!!!

I haven't been in there this year yet. I'm addicted to the free fries at Coasters with the JCC. I must have eaten there atleast 6 or 7 times so far.

I haven't been to the Point yet this year, but hopefully will be soon. For those of us who have to maintain a gluten-free diet (do you know how hard that IS in this country, BTW?) how many options does the Market really present?

("gluten free" means nothing with wheat, period. Rice, corn, and potatoes are Ok, though.)

Did the price go up this year? Last year the price seem to vary, beginning of the season was cheaper than in July.
I recall that they usually have some sort of carving station, some form of potato, some rice dish, and a decent salad bar. Avoid the gravy with the carving station (probably uses a flour roux as a thickener).

BzBzMom: last season, there was a lunch price and a dinner price. Perhaps you went at different times of day last year? *** Edited 5/28/2004 3:22:00 PM UTC by Brian Noble***

Midway Market has two menus, a lunch menu and a dinner menu. The price varies with the menu, lunch being less. The lunch menu usually has burgers instead of carved meats. When the park closes at 8:00pm, they seem to only have the lunch menu, with the lower price all day long.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

My group had very good luck at the Midway Market a few weeks ago. We had a late lunch for $10.95. They offered drinks, salad fixings, a taco bar, several pasta choices, several pizzas, chicken, meatloaf, little corn on the cobs, mashed potatos, hamburgers and other thinkgs I can't remember. Plus, the dessert bar, with giant cookies, pies, ice cream, cheese cake, donuts and other assorted bars and such.

We had a server from Latvia (I think), by the name of "Ziggy" and he kept the drinks coming and the dirty plates cleared.

Even with the tip it was a much better deal that I think we could have found elsewhere.

I ate there opening day and paid $13.95 for there dinner menu. The food was good, the service is above average. It's still the best deal in the park, and the part I love more, it's all you can eat! lol
