Midway Market

thinking of hitting this one for dinner since last year we were craving ice cream by that time, and with the $2 off coupon, it seems like a pretty good deal. Does the buffet stay open all the way to park close?

My girl and I fell in love at CP and we plan to do it again every year for the rest of our lives.

I'm not sure if the buffet shuts down earlier than the park or not. Although I'd advise trying to get there a bit earlier when they're still moderately busy. A friend of mine went this past Sunday while the place was pretty slow and encountered nothing but cold, dry food that had been sitting out too long. The supervisor even admitted some of it was leftovers from one of the catered events earlier in the day.

That being said, I've always found the food to be decent during their busier times, when they have to keep replenishing the food on the buffet.

I went last week about an hour before closing. Even though they were cleaning up for the day the food was still mostly hot and enjoyable. It certainly doesn't compare to a real buffet like Golden Corral or Ponderosa, but it's still the best food deal in the park in my opinion.

Walked by the other day, and it appeared they'd cut the prices back a buck or two...

Um, considering the quality of food at those places, this doesn't exactly sound like an endorsement. It's actually worse than Golden Corral?

That might be true. However, it pales in comparison to restaurants which are located just outside the park (Famous Dave's, Friday's, etc.).

I usually go to Panda Express over by Millennium Force for my lunch/dinner appetite. However if I'm in the front of the park, I'll usually hit Midway Market. You guys are right though, for what you get in Midway Market, it's just as good as going to a Buffet restaurant like Golden Corral. Golden Corral offers more though. :)

That and Ryan's is right up there in the puke factor.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Midway Market opens at 11:00 and closes an hour before the rest of the park. Sometimes it is rented out for special events before opening, like the Rotary Club banquet.

Well played.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

^ I disagree with you guys on that. To me Golden Corral is awesome!! I never have any problems when I go there.

I agree, Golden Corral is pretty disgusting. Not really a buffet person.

The ACE website is still the third listing when you type "gravy buffet" into Google. It used to be first, but still makes me laugh.

As to Golden Corral, I'm just going to go ahead and give the benefit of the doubt to its adherents, by assuming that it's the only/best restaurant in their respective towns. Also, I'm not sure why you would want the word "corral" associated with "buffet."

I've never eaten at a Golden Corral where I didn't seriously feel like heaving about an hour later. Really, no kidding.
