Well this is a tricky question to answer. Its both a yes and a no. The fog machines are located in the fright zones. But depending on how the wind is it could blow some onto the midway. But its not going to be completly fogged over if thats what you were asking. I Dont believe there are fog machines outside the zones but I could be wrong. Im 99.9% sure there arent. I hope that helped a little

There used to be machines located throughout the midways in years past, but not so many if any at all last year. I was curious if there were any placed on the midways this season.
Why would they get rid of the fog on the midways? It added to the effect of Halloweekends. You could see it from the parking lot. I don't know it was just cool.
I will tell you what its like this Friday. In fact I'll bring my digital camera in the park (I usually say I will, and even take it in the park, but I am so preoccupied with riding that I do not take the camera out. I get annoyed enough sticking my sunglasses in the sack everytime I get on a ride.).
I will just keep the movie running as I walk from ride to ride and maybe snap some photos of things.

My guess is that, as more outdoor walk-thru attractions were added, the machines were needed for those attractions, and they were taken from the midways, rather than purchasing additional ones.
No new rides for 2 years and just buy a million fog machines! During HW have all of CP covered with fog! ;) I am kidding of course.
Let's Get Weird.
I wonder if the fog has been known by the state of California to cause cancer.
Blue people fly sideways when it rains
I, too, miss the "general" fog that used to be on the midway.
It was never, ever heavy or "scary," just enough to provide a "light spritz" every now and then. Not very many machines, as I recall.
I do wish they would consider bringing it back--IMO it greatly added to the atmosphere.

My point exactly. There were probably 20-25 machines outside of the zones a couple of years ago. I really thought they helped add character to the whole experience. For some reason I thought somebody mentioned last year that the reason they got rid of them had to do with peoples' alergies or something of that sort. My memory could be wrong though.
Even if the allergies are the reason they got rid of the machines, I know that there are hyper allergenic fog juice available. I use it in my own haunted houses and have yet to have ANY problems due to allergies. There is still the potential for breathing problems in small confined spaces but out in the open there should be no problem whatsoever.
For any one interested this is the fog juice I use:

The fog situation worsened as the afternoon went on. If it doesn't qualify as a "pea soup" fog, it's closed.
