MF/Steel Dragon 2000

Did you bother to read the Eminem thread?

Yeah I don't trust the japanese either, I mean it's not like they know how to engineer cars or anything, and it's certainly not like my Civic gets 40+ MPG.

Geez, when will they do anything right?

Seriously, though - TOGO's might be rough and have "interesting" layouts, but was there a single one that lost a wheel or crashed?

That's funny because Renault, a french car manufacturer, was making cars that got 52MPG in the early 80's. :)

And too all those Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge owners, almost all of there cars use an engine/transmission made in Japan. So if you dont trust them, dont drive your car. I guess you'll just have to take the city bus. No wait, there made in Japan too. (hehe)

Boy, that's funny. This thread was posted while I was IN Japan.

Steel Dragon is still being maintained, it's just not running. There's a sign in front that I got a friend of mine who speaks Japanese to translate. Basically it's very apologetic and says the ride WILL reopen after some "problems" are worked out.

What I've heard (unofficially!) is that the ride is still under a maintenance contract with Morgan, but the park doesn't want to run the Morgan trains on it after the wheel incident. So, they're waiting for that contract to expire, and will then put some other trains on it (why do I shudder at the thought of Togo trains ;) ) and reopen the ride.

And since I'm just now reading this thread, Roller Nut's comment was beyond stupid. I rode 70-some odd coasters in my 2 weeks in Japan, and I had a BLAST. Awesome place, I can't wait to go back, someday...

Maybe Intamin will build some trains for it. :)

The wikipedia entry now says it is open as of Sep. 3.

It's a miracle! Let the balloons fall from the sky! :)

I saw another web site that showed a park in Japan that was open in the winter. Is this for real? Did you visit this park? I can't remember the name but was amazed and a bit envious.

For those of you that have ridden Millennium and Steel Dragon. Do you prefer the cable lift or the chain lift.

Nice. Bump a thread that's over a month old to ask a question that really isn't worth asking.

Exactly. But wait--if they would have asked in a new thread, they would have been chastised for violating Rule #2 of "Posting and You" (posting without searching first), since there is an existing thread -- this one.

Which is the lesser evil?

Not to be confused with Twisted Wicker 08 from 2002

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

That wasn't a question, it was a sentence! See the period? ;)

According to TPR, it opened up earlier this year.
