MF Stations

If I understand how the stations are set up correctly, people boarding the trains and exiting the trains will only have to walk on one side of both stations. So why are the trains open on both sides? Is this to give them more of an open feeling and so that the ride ops can check the lapbars easier? *** This post was edited by CP_genius on 1/16/00. ***
Well, I'm not sure whether you are right about the stations or not, but if you are then your two reasons for having both sides open make a lot of sense. Also, having both sides open should make it easier for employees to cross from one side of the station to the other. It would also probably also make it easier for people to vacate the cars in the case of it being stuck on the lift hill (depending on what side of the track the stairs, or other emergency device is located.
I think both sides are opened because of the turning through out the course. The first turn you would approuch at 92mph and when you have reached the turn the person on the left side would be pushed up against the side wall with a few +G's. That could cause you to strain your neck. Another posibility for having both sides open is for the on ride picture. They might want to get your whole body or the kids who are at the minumum hieght level.
are there going to be two stations?? One for loading and one for exiting? Kinda sounds like it.

Welcome back Millennium Force riders...We all want to know how was your RIDE!!!!!
Yeah they are going to have 2 stations. Hopefully this will reduce the time of loading and unloading.
1) Perhaps the load station and the unload station use oppostite sides of the track, as we see on Disaster Transport and Cedar Creek Mine Ride

2) Perhaps it is desirable to make it possible to do flush loading in the future

3) Maybe it's just that the cars look better open on both sides

Although, if the cars *do* load and unload on the same side, I would not be surprised if a minimal barrier (an inch-wide metal strap, a length of wire rope, a plastic chain, something like that...) appears on the non-access side of the train. Remember that there used to be such a barrier on the Blue Streak trains, in the days BC*...

DT has two stations and loads/unloads on the same side.

Not true. You board on the right and exit on the left.

However, I think that MF will load and unload on the right, because if memory serves, the storage track sits very close in parallel to the unload station (the transfer is between stations) and the load station structure only provides about a two or three feet on the left.

i thought i had heard somewhere that they need two stations because of the elevator lift system...something to do with the way the trains go onto the system...i'm PROBABLY wrong here, but i vaguely remember hearing that you will load at one point and unload at another.

"I think I scrambled my brain!!"
Lemme tell you. Out of my thousands of trips to CP, I've had to walk down the stairs on the lift hills of Gemini, Demon Drop, and Mean Streak. I would totally crap my pants if i had to try and use the steps on Millenium Force. Have you seen the angle of ascent compared to the others?!?!
I have a question. What is flush loading? RideMan said something about it.

Flush Loading - one stop loading, like on Blue Streak AD*, Gemini, Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, and Mine Ride.

I'm pretty sure no one will have to walk down steps. There is supposed to be some type of evacuation vehicle that will allow riders to ride down the side of the lift if a train is stalled on the way up.
Are there even going to be steps?
Thank you shivering Timbers!
