MF Sign Change

On RRC I was reading that the entrance sign to MF has changed. I know, and have seen pictures, that the first sign had the "M" on it behind the text. Somebody has said that the "M" is now gone. Is this true? and why did/would they change it? Is it to be mysterious (j/k)?

Bring back the M swoosh PLEASE!!!!

Why'd they change it... does any one know?!
