MF Repainting

Ok, so I know that MF probably won't be repainted for a number of years, and I don't want to get into the discussion of why or why not it needs/doesn't need it.

However, I was thinking about this yesterday while I was at the park. All the new Intamin rides have the white (or in Maverick's case, brown) sections on the track where the wheels run. When Millennium Force or any of the other Intamin coasters are painted, will the park simply paint over the white strips, or will they be kept?

Jeff Young

Yes, they'll paint over the strip. Just look at Raptor. It used to have a strip too. They painted it, the strip went away, then it sorta came back as the wheels rubbed off the paint.

I didn't know that Raptor had a strip. Learn something every day.

Jeff Young

Ya know what? I might be confusing myself. Raptor's rails were just gray before it was painted and now it has strips because they painted the rails. My bad. I must be thinking of something else.

I still think they'll just paint the strip. It would take forever to tape that off when they painted the ride. *** Edited 5/25/2007 3:35:32 PM UTC by halltd***

I think the paint strip is just on Intamin roller coaster track, sorta like a trademark.

Maverick will have a small section without the strip now, where it had to be welded.
