These publishers, writers, and whatnot should have figured out by now...
When you put something like a picture of a roller coaster, amusement park, beach, video game, sports team, or any type of amusement/recreation activity in a school book, the student's mind will wander!
Ask any one of my teachers.

My math book last year had a beautiful picture of SP's ravine drop. Many a'conversations started after seeing that picture... classtime-consuming conversations, too :)
