MF G-Forces

I tried looking for this information all over the place, but does anyone know or can anyone tell me how strong the g-forces are that Millennium Force exerts on its riders? Mainly I'm looking for maximum positive Gs, but if anyone knows anything about negative G or lateral G measurements I'd be interested to know those too. I was just wondering, Thanks. I apologize in advance if this has been posted before.

All coasters at CP pull no more than 5 g's. I would venture to guess the first turn comes close to that.

Surprisingly I don't think it pull many laterals because of the extreme banking. You really only get pushed into your seat in the turns.

Thanks Joe. That is what I expected. I knew there probably weren't much, if any, laterals because of the banking and smoothness of the ride. I figured it would be around 5g's max positive or so. Has this ever been offically quantified? Thanks.

You should email CP if you really wanted to know.

Thanks CP Rules, I just might do that.

I don't know how helpful it is, but in Jeff's open letter to Senator Markey he says that Wildcat pulls more G's than MF.

Thanks MiLLeNNiuMRiDeR! That is a great letter that I forgot about. Good resource, I guess that gives me something to go on. ;)

I doubt CP would give you the exact amount, I'm 99% sure they will just respond with "to ensure the safety of our guests, none of Cedar Point's roller coasters exceed 5 g forces." I would guess that MF pulls 4 or 4.5.

When I went for physics day, my g-force meter toped out at 5-g's at the bottom of the first hill. The first overbank pulled 4.5-g's, the two on the island each pulled 4-g's, and the last one did just a little less than 4-g's. That's what I got, hope this helps.

Thanks Ralphy boy! So you are saying then, if your meter was capable of measuring more than 5-g's it would have kept going higher? Cool! Thanks for the stats.

Yes, the meter did only measure up to 5-g's, and I felt the little weight thump against the bottom of the tube at the bottom of the hill, so it might have gone a little higher.

Thanks jeff and MillenniumRider for pulling that up

Now, I'm not exactly sure that a homemade rubber-band/spring G-meter would deliver accurate results...

I found my info on Cedar Point on-line!!
The real G-force meters are $200....and its not worth taking it on a roller coaster...because there is a good chance of it falling out of your hand and there goes $200 down the drain.

Welcome to New York City

MF seems A LOT more intense this year, I blacked out on the first overbanked turn, so I think it might come a little close to 5.
Yea for the first time on any ride, I also was very close to blacking out.
I'm not sure about the G's, but I experienced my first injury on MF Friday night. The G-Forces at the bottom of the drop going into the first overbanked turn forced my arms down, and either in the process of them being forced down or else in my effort to keep them up/raise them back up, something popped in my shoulder (I felt an actual pop). My left shoulder was sore the rest of the night [although I was able to get a few hand slaps with that arm on Gemini] and it's been even more worthless the past two days.

Maybe I should sue Cedar Fair. Anyone know a good attorney?
