MF and Bugs..

I never realized how ANNOYING being pelted with may flies is at 93 mph....I waited an extra 45 minutes for the front seat with my friend and we got pelted....and it was still early in the eveing...like 7:30. The guy behing us claimed he ate like 5...is that even good for your healt? :P
I doubt the health value (though I don't think its harmful), but the bugs are worth the front row. It makes it kind of cool, IMO.

Either you rode last year or time traveled to the future because the mayflies aren't out yet. Not to mention they swarm in the morning, not the evening.

Mayflies are out now Jeff, they infested the whole park yesterday pretty badly.

um yeah...they were every where....On the top of Gemini a whole swarm was up there...
They are not mayflies they are muffleheads, I know that becasue I have made the mistake of calling them mayflies instead of muffleheads.

Just be happy there are no Cicadas at CP this summer. They are huge, and prolly would hurt like no other.

Yeah, except that they can barely fly and they don't swarm.

Eating insects won't hurt you. Bugs are higher in protein than beef (or any other food) and are eaten in many countries as their main source of nutrition. Americans think consuming insects is repulsive, but be thankful you ate a low-cal (and low carb for those on Atkins) snack. With the price of food in the park, getting a free snack is a real treat!

Because of cooler temps than previous years, it is possible we will see midges and mayflies at different times than predicted OR they will stick around longer than usual. The temps of the lake water and air will influence how active the little buggers are and when they start emerging.

And enough with the cicada crap already.
