Or do you believe that most of these stories fail to get at the heart of the issue? Could this be because the folks reporting these stories aren't riders and lack a fundamental understanding of the issues at hand?Do they seem to swallow the company line hook, line, and sinker?
Thoughts?
By the way, The Blade in Toledo has a story on the seat-belt thing on page B1 of both of its editions today. Has The Plain Dealer weighed in yet?
And for that matter, where does ACE stand on this issue?
Just wondering

I'm also an ACE member. I was stunned to hear what Sanderson said. (offers no sympathy for riders booted off because "there's millions of other things to do at CP"). As a representative of coaster enthusiasts she should understand that many of us come to ride MF, not a merry-go-round or tilt-a-whirl. Unless it's one of the few times dragster is running, if I can't ride MF there is no reason for me to go to CP. I would think Sanderson knows we're not talking about seriously large or obese people here. We're talking about people who are slightly larger than the norm - like lots of her fellow ACE members who have been riding for decades with no problems. I'm very disappointed with her statement. *** Edited 5/21/2004 5:59:33 PM UTC by Jeff***

Obviously, as the head of the largest organization of roller coaster enthusiasts. It makes sense that she would be asked for her opinion.
Doesn't mean I have to agree with it, even if I am a member of the organization.

MF is/was my favorite coaster. Any coaster that even comes close for me is not at CP. I don't care what else they have at CP. If I came to the park and it was down for maintenance, I'd understand, and ride the less thrilling coasters. We've all had trips go that way. But getting there and finding out they changed the rules, that's unfair. And how was I to know which other coasters they were going to be scrutinizing whether I was too fat to ride or not. I wasn't about to go through that again, especially to ride something I didn't care about riding. I'm glad you find other things to do at CP - you're getting more for your money than I am. But to me, the perfect CP day is 10 rides on MF (about all you can usually get) then hit the gift shops. I know Sanderson or other ace members wouldn't slam a park in the media. I know I wouldn't. But I would have said something like "yes, some people will be disappointed at not being able to ride such a great ride, but the park is acting out of concern for our safety". Don't tell me to pay that much money to go ride the carousel. *** Edited 5/27/2004 10:13:19 PM UTC by Jeff***
Sounds to me like MillForce810 is looking forward to shorter lines since the rest of us larger folk presumably will be watching Snoopy Rocks on Ice or riding a bar stool at the Game Day Grille (is that the name of it?) or not going to the park at all.
A little sympathy please, MillForce810!!!!!!
Don't suppose that's coming.
Oh well, back to the Abdomenizer!!!!
Actually, I believe I saw her at the TTD media day last year and she didn't strike me as especially large.
