If Mean Streak was ever to get new trains, what kind would you think would be the best? I've heard people say that Millennium Flyer trains are really good, but I don't think that I could see them on Mean Streak.

But, the Millennium Flyer trains would probably fix that ride...
Someone mentioned PTC...What do you think the ride has on it now?

I don't think the trains are bad- Viper at SFGAm has the same PTC trains as MS, and that is one of my favorite woodies: fast, smooth and tons of airtime. Not to mention headchoppers. Hmmm... I wonder why I liked it better than MS...

PTCs without headrests or the concrete padding. =)

GCI's Millennium Flyer trains are to wood twisters what B&M trains are to, well, twisted B&M track. Because each and every car can turn independently from the next, in theory every set of wheels can be turned at the right angle. Compare this to the current trains, where you're more or less pushing a rectangle in between two curved lines.
I really wish the solution was that obvious, but we've been theorizing about this for years with no results.

Theoretically, each set of wheels could be 180 degrees from the previous. =)
I've heard so many solutions around here about helping mean streak. Greasing the track, new trains, new padding, etc. All pretty simple sounding stuff. It seems to me that if the solution was the simple, the park would have done it by now. There must be something more to it.
All I can think of that would be more serious would be uneven track or a guage problem. If the gauge was just a little off anywhere, the trains side wheels would have to be loosened a little so the train can safely make it throught the spot. On the rest of the circuit however, these wheels will bang on the sides making it rough.
Rideman, sound logical, probably not b/c guage can probably be adjusted fairly easily, but hey what do I know.
Bill hit it right on the head! (PTCs without headrests or the concrete padding.)

The trick about the GCI trains is that GCI doesn't want to install them on non-GCI track. =)
Why headrests and bricko-foam? 1 word: Lawyers.
Shakespeare had it right.
I want MORGAN TRAINS!!!! It's a shame Riverside (now SFNE) got rid of theirs!
