Mean Streak queue question

As I'm sure most of you know, inside of Mean Streak is used for storage of old ride vehicles and parts. I was wondering if it is possible to get in trouble with the park for going into a part of the queue for Mean Streak that isn't being used for the line to get a good look at what is inside the structure, as it has a giant queue area from it's more popular days. I've asked this question in a few other places, though not on this site, and nobody has seemed to understand what I'm trying to ask. They all seem to think I would be physically under the ride, or on the infield of Mean Streak. Hopefully someone can answer my question!

It's always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

I remember waiting 3 hours for that ride when it first opened. I would have to say that yes you should be able to go through the unused portion of the lines area to take a look. The shrubs are barely even kept up in that area any longer and the queue for that ride is way overbuilt for todays usage. If there are chains blocking access to those areas then that may be a different story since it may look like you are up to something to an employee.

I have a side question:
Do the onride photos on MS still work.

I say go for it. As long as you stay inside the que rails and don't act like an idiot the worst case scenario is someone asks you to leave that area of the que. If you are still worried about it take a camera with you and have the "I was just taking pictures of meanstreak" excuse ready.

if you ask for permission and they say no, nothing happens.

if you ask for forgiveness and they say no, you're out of the park :)

CedarPointTaylor, yes. At least they were last month when I was there.

I've gone in that area of the que to take video before. As long as you're not being stupid you should be ok. If someone asks you to leave just do it and don't put up a fight and you won't have to deal with CP police or anything.

Touche; but they won't kick you out for that unless you are out of the que doing something stupid

As long as your not jumping fences you should be fine. Not only will jumping fences get your removed from the park it can be very unsafe. if your in the queue area you should be fine. I'm sure no one would say anything.

If you want to see the old queue portions in detail, just visit on a Saturday during Halloweekends. They are fully used every year.

I just want to answer you and say Yes it's alright as long as you stay in the queue. I do it all the time to try and get a picture of Mean Streak's First hill drop. I never get the picture I want though because the sun is always shining right on the hill so when I take the shot, I get a glare of the riders from the sun.

Hah, they should throw you out of the park for going in Mean Streak's queue.

I've gotten a few pictures from the back parts of the queue myself. I didn't stick around too long, so nobody saw me.

I've done it many times around the park, but never with Mean Streak. I've done it in Mantis' queue when there aren't many people in line and no one has ever said anything. Same with Gemini.

Thank you all for the answers! I was pretty sure that it wouldn't lead to trouble, like most of you said, if I'm not stupid, cause after all the queue area is supposed to be safe for guests

Today when I was there they were tearing all the queue out except straight path to station

hmmm interesting....coaster graveyard haunted trail/house anyone?

Awesome! A dark infield of a monstrous wooden coaster? Sounds great to me

It's for a new haunt with a wax museum sort of theme.

That should be interesting. I think this is a great location for something like this. Im assuming it'll be an indoor haunt?
