Mean Streak goes down early???

okay, i have a few gripes about Mean Streak right now. Why is it that you cannot take a drink into the Mean Streak line after 9:00??? im pretty sure i passed 10 trash cans during the course of the queue. and why is it that some of the ride ops feel they need to pack up for home at 9:00??? uhh, yeah, the parks open until 11:00 there dudes. and why is it that they decided to take off a train at this 9:00 time as well??? not only did we have to wait another 10 minutes, but when we returned, the station was full (it was empty when we left). oh, and ya think the ride ops could show a tad bit more enthusiasm??? i dont think its gonna kill you to smile. this wasnt much of a problem for me (ive been on the ride numerous times, duh) but left a lasting impression on my visiting relatives. and this impression was not a good one. Mean Streak, im sorry such strange people have to run you...

Ok, I don't work on Mean Streak but from the things you are describing to me there's some similarites to Corkscrew.

The reason you may not be allowed to take a drink in to the queue is because there may not be someone at the crowd control position to ensure the drink is thrown away before the station.

Second, employees don't decide, "Hey, I want to go home." Employees are sent home after Supervision decides that there is no longer a need to run the ride at full capacity. When you have a smaller line there is no need to run that third train and cause unneccesary wear and tear on all the trains. This helps save the park money as they no longer need to pay that employees remaining hours of pay or to pay for the maintence of the third train.

well, i havent had any gripes about any ride yet, except Mean Streak. the crew just doesnt look like they want to be running this ride. i really wish Mean Streak had a slightly nicer staff. Oh, and there was an employee at the station "crowd controlling". he threw out other people's drinks that might have been snuck in past "queue nazi".
oh yeah, and keep up the good work on Crokscrew. thats had a good crew all year, and ive always enjoyed my rides on the Screw... :)

Rouge I hear your complaints and am sorry you had a bad experience from our crew. I would like to help to clear a few things up. 1. If we don't have crowd control then drinks and food cannot be brought in line at all. 2. Usually after about at least an hour and a half or so of having an almost empty platform then they decide to take a train off it is usually then we pack up the platform for a bit but usually it goes back to an almost empty platform near the end of the night (like the last hour or so).3. (back to the topic of drinks) On no ride is there to be any open beverages on platform period. As for the crew not being enthusiastic enough I have seen other crews at other parks that were a lot worse. I hope I could clear a few things up for you Rouge.

ya did a bit, but my problem was that there WAS a crowd control guy sitting at the station AND at the beginning of the line. and the crew was fairly rude. (not the rudest ive seen, ill give you that, but rude enough). what i remember the most was an eccentric guy named Mark. he was fairly nazish in his ways, and he was screaming at the group in line for front "if you dont get on this train right now you're going to have to wait an extra 10 minutes for the next one!!!". this was no problem to me, i was in no hurry as we had just made the deserted trek to Mean Streak with no wait. i had no problem with this, it was my relatives who have 2 days to spend in the park a year and had never ridden this fantastic ride. and the really sad thing is they said the ride was not worth any of it, the rudeness, the trek, the roughness. they said they didnt care to ride it ever again, which is sad because it is a good ride...

everytime i read about that place, it sounds like a hellhole. might be a good place, but i dont even wanna waste the time if it is a hellhole...

I had an amazing experience at SFMM this past March. I did, however, see how it could become Tragic Mountain during the near-peak and peak seasons.

Crowds were very light the days we were there. The capacity on the coasters sucked royally, but since the lines were short it didn't really screw too much up.

I cannot imagine visiting in July or August, though! I think that place would be hell on earth.

It is.
Ok I see there was a crowd contorl then there was no exscuse for there not being any beverages in line. There could of been a miscommunication within the crew but I can't say for sure. I am sorry that you had a bad experiacne with the crew and hope your next trip to CP and Mean Streak are more pleasent.
