Well, it didn't get Gemini'd, but MS sure did get hybrid'd. And what a ride it's turned into. It needs to be May 2019 already.
Holy 19 year old zombie thread, Batman!

It’s fun to read the 1999 version of everyone talking about rmc before rmc was a thing and having no idea what would become of mean streak. Did they ever do a Gemini makeover to mean streak? Well yeah, you could say that.

i think that MS is in a transitionary phase..i.e. it is just now getting "broken in"...

This is my favorite comment.
Debuting in 2020: A new coaster! Sure, it will suck for the first decade, but don't worry, it's just in the "breaking in phase" that some coasters go through.
Promoter of fog.
Let's hope steel vengeance won't have all those problems it had its opening year in this year.

As a kid, I thought of Mean Streak getting Gemini-type track overlaid onto it as well.
RMC wasn't even the first to do it technically. Bobsleds at Seabreeze is also a wood-steel conversion, but on a much smaller scale.
Hybrid rides have been around as well for a while. Cedar Creek Mine ride is a hybrid. Also the coney island cyclone has steel supports and wooden track.

^I'm aware, but I was specifically talking about converting woodies to steel. But yeah, wood-tracked hybrids have been around for a long time (Crystal Beach Cyclone was one too) while some of the earliest modern steel coasters were steel-track hybrids (like CCMR.)
What's funny about this zombie thread is - It's older than some of the Mean Streak / Gemini Ride ride hosts for this upcoming summer...
