Mean Streak Down 5-26

Yesterday when I went to Cedar Point, they had the tracks closed down back to Mean Streak so no one could get back there. Does anyone know why it was down? Did it valley? Are they removing the trims? (:))
I don't know, but I believe it was down all day today (Sunday). I didn't go back there to see why...

Down two straight days. Sounds more serious than a valley...

I want to drive the Zamboni!

Maybe they're soaking it up with gas for a big employee campfire! ;)

Sounds like an EXCELLENT idea to me Matt! :) Heck, I'll supply all the hot dogs necessary for the entire crew to have a massive weenie-roast.

Don't be so quick to bash Mean Streak. Have either one of you even been on it yet this year, or last year while were at it?? I used to be a MS basher, but in the past year and so far this year the ride has been getting great respect from me. The ride has been operating better in the past two seasons than it has since it was built. Fact, I don't think I have had a single bad ride on it that I did not enjoy since the 2000 season. Let me mention that it is also not squeeking this year either.

I rode Tuesday and Wednesday and while it was not as rough as last year, the ride just really isn't much fun. Perhaps it doesn't deserve to be burned down, but I just find that there is little airtime or laterals to be had on the thing.

I rode by Mean Streak after work lats night(around 8:00) and it was running so they may have fixed whatever problem they had.

"I Can't Answer Another Man's Phone Thats Like Sleeping With Another Man's Woman,That Call,No Matter How Attractive Is Not For Me."

Mean Streak was down for a day and a half because of a failed chain mechanism that had to be replaced by maintenance. They were debating whether or not to remove the stuck train off of the hill, these two factors plus the rain were why MS was closed.

Mean Streak was not running early Sunday, but eventually was up. It was terrible. I thought I was going to die!!! The ride was the roughest I have ever, ever, ever had. I hope I can still have kids.
I hope you're female...

Mean Streak was down near closing on 5/24.  It was also down on 5/25.  I did get a chance to ride it on 5/23 and it was definitely the king of pain.  I could feel my spine compress as I rode it.  Magnum felt rough that day too, but not even close to the ponding I got on Mean Streak.

Hah! Nice Duane :)

MP-you must be weak. A friend and I rode it as soon as it went up Sunday. We rode very back seat of the Gold train and I felt it was one of the smoothest rides I've had in a long time!

Monday, rode back seat of red train and still had a smooth ride.

Once again, it's all in the way you ride it. People who lean back in the seat get battered. People who lean forward, relax and "ragdoll" themselves, LOVE it.

Not only to add to the pain, but those head rests are plastic if I remember correctly....You definatly don't want to lean your head back on those...To many bumps and shakes will give you quite the splitting head ache...I agree that it's all in the way you ride it....I try to keep myself right in the middle of the car....not leaning forward too much, but not leaning all the way back either....I find that works the best for me

Whatever...as I got bounced and jostled and my teeth chattered, and I swore I could feel my uterus moving, I was thinking that it was the roughest ride ever, as did everyone who was on the train with me. It was 50 times worse than the ride I had on Friday night.
I don't care what you guys say to me, when this coaster has the brake off the first drop, (every time I rode it this year) it's easily been the best ride in the park. Not even the Force can touch it, many women seem to hate the ride, but it's a great ride to get anger out for me;). If you just relax and don't lean back this coaster will beat you and leave you begging for more. In short I love it!
OK, I talked to a ride op today about the trim. Here is what she told me "I wish we could turn it off, but the ride is still pretty good without it. The biggest complaint I ever get is 'This ride really sucks with the trim on the first hill now' We used to be able to override the trims on the main control panel for our 'regulars' but now maintenance found out and took out the control and plugged the hole on the panel" Sounds like that explains why every now and then we heard a story from someone that rode it without trims. Obviously now it is not an option.
