Mean Streak being torn down?

If they do as much work this year as last year, it should be almost brand new for at least the first 3 weeks of the season.

Fixed that for you. :)

Before they closed it for the season, it was running as good as it was at the begining of the season.

Yeah agreed. I rode MS sometime in July or August this year, and I didn't notice any degradation from the start of the season. The first turn was still really smooth.

Also, the area that was retracked on Beast this year is holding up well too. The problem for me is that it's making the rest of the ride feel rougher than ever!

That's not the case according to a number of first-hand accounts throughout this season.

That's all a matter of opinion, I just know. we were having train fulls of people coming back cheering with the same enthusiasm in May as the weekend we closed .

For beast or MS. Because I have had rides on MS during every visit this year. At least until they closed it down.

Mean Streak. And yeah, I know that you're impressed with the ride, though if memory serves, you've never been that coaster's harshest critic. :)

Opinions seem mixed. For every person who feels MS' work has held up well, there seems to be someone who feels the work deteriorated significantly during the season.

I realize that wooden coasters, more than steel coasters, inherently can offer different ride experiences...that is a pro of wooden coasters, unless it is in the case of Mean Streak.

Mean Streak experiences vary from one extreme to another. No one who has experienced a trimless ride on Mean Streak would contend that the first half of the ride is immensely more enjoyable when it has the speed it needs to run the course. But herein lies another problem; unfortunately it still has the second half, and even when it was new, the second half of the ride seemed like a pointless meandering through the structure with no airtime, surprises, forces, or whatever else makes a coaster more than a "train ride".

Promoter of fog.

Its been hit or miss for me. Usually around 1 or 2 rides a trip and we've been there about 18 times so far. Sometimes it rides really smooth, no jackhammering or shuffle and the next it ruins your entire day. I remember one ride coming back to the station and a guy yelled out "Come on Cedar Point just alittle technology would be nice" It was a very rough ride, you can hear everyone spewing out some kind of cuss word.

I never said it was a good ride. I just said it's running the best it has in a long time and the fixes the park has made have held up.
