While riding Mean Streak last week I noticed alot of wood by the Gemmini Cars. Could this mean new tracks for Mean Streak?
MS was retracked just this spring. It is possible that they are going to re-track it, but I think they are going to re-place any boards on the coaster that is cracked or showing alot of age. It could be new wood for suports for Gemini, or new wood for BS, who knows, I guess we'll find out next season.

MF Laps-14
"HOW CAN YOU HAVE ANY PUDDING IF YOU DONT EAT YOUR MEAT?!"
The lumber might be for Gemini... it is made mostly of wood, you know.
Mean Streak is in a perpetual state of repair, as there are six (at last count) full-time carpenters who work on the ride. Portions of it have been retracked here and there, including in the off season. It happens every year and all season long. Replacing wood and rails won't "fix" Mean Streak.

No, but a few hundred gallons of gas and a few matches will...
Sorry, the ride is just too damn rough for me these days. Old age setting in..

Looking for me?? Take a guess where you'll find me...
How big are the boards? Did anyone else notice the new fence across from Toot Sweets? Perhaps they are putting a fence on the otherside of the island.

Remember, line jumping is NOT a sporting event!
I think the wood is for the new cabins that are gong up in Camper village, as when I was was there on the 7 there were alot of wood trusses by Mean Streak, Which I am guessing was what you guys are talking about.

(I thought they fixed Mean Streak a long time ago, at least in the veterinary sense...)

I don't know if Mean Streak was fixed in that sense. I sort of thought that Son of Beast was the love child of Beast and Mean Streak.

...and enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point, The Am-aaaa-zement park!
"Cedar Point is a family park, not a park for making families." It's good to know that Mean Streak has followed the rules.

"I'm just a teenage dirt bag"
It looked to me that all the lumber and roof supports inside Mean Streak were going to be used to build a temporary covering over the trains there for the winter.
But the cabin theory sounds better...
BTW- did anyone else notice that the trims were off on the first drop on MS? It was probably due to the extremely high winds coming off of the lake. MS does get Mean when it get going faster.

Yes jonC, I did indeed notice that the trims were off on the MS. I bounce the ride ops about that every time I get on, and Saturday was no exception. You had to be a real die hard to stay to the end that night. Temperatures were reading as low as 33 degrees and that wasn't even factoring in the wind. However it was pretty cool (parden the pun) because for the last 3 hours, everything except for MF was virtually a walk-on, and even that was only about a 15 minute wait. MS trains were less than half full, that may be another reason the trims were off, but Hey! Finally a ride without them. Unbelievable difference.

It is too bad the MS sucks so bad. Visually I think it is the best looking coaster at CP. I predict they will eventually tear it down. Probably by the year 2010. It is too rough for the oldtimers, the best part of the ride is the lift up the 1st hill, after they brake it going down the first hill my attitude is like "when is this ride going to be over" let's go ride the Magnum.
