Mean Streak 10

I was wondering why their wasnt a big celebration for Mean streak's 10th anniversary? (brochure, funguide, flags, ect) especially, because it was at one time the tallest, fastest, steepest
Cedar Point chooses to celebrate what they will. First, consider the amount of advertising they did last year for Millennium Force - definately ate up some dollars there. Plus, the Mean Streak has never been one of the more popular coasters (hey, I'm not saying anything bad - I love the coaster, but it's a sad truth...). If you're comparing it to the tremendous campaign for Magnum's 10th anniversary, well, Magnum is significantly more popular than the Mean Streak, and generating more advertising for Magnum would be more likely to pull guests into the park than doing so for the Mean Streak.

Sad but true, but it's still a good coaster and well worth a hearty "Happy Birthday!"

This year is the Corkscrew's 25th anniv. But you didn't realize that until you thought about it, did you?

I think that's the point CrystalKat was making...

I thought this thread was about some people organizing a Mean Streak 10. oops
Hey, where was Disaster Transports 10th anniversary bash last year?

lol Same here Joe E. They would have to keep a chiropracter on hand though......  Anyways still a decent ride a little more air than last year I thought.  Happy B-day Mean Squeak.

Sigh..don't even get me started on the lack of birthday celebration :(

I hear you there Mikey.  Where are is bday cake for Mean Streak.  I think we need our own special celebration.  By the way 10 trips in one day isn't that painful at all.

CP Top 3:
1) Mean Streak
2) Gemini
3) Disaster Transport
I love that large wooden structure!

I think CP just saves birthday celebrations for truly classic coastersthat changed (or will change) history...which would be Magnum and MF.
...a marathon was my first inclination too. I thought 10 was a little low...:)

MF count: 20

There is a huge difference in Magnum's decade of dominace compared to Mean Streak's decade of disapointment.

Ouch, Dan! That hurts ;)

Low blow! But if you want to slam on a coaster, at least do it with proper grammar. ;)

It isn't so bad if you ride the gold colored train and then pick a seat in the last 1/3 of the train to lessen the effects of the trim on the first drop. I've rode all three colored trains back-to-back (in the same seat) and I found the gold one to seem to offer the smoothest ride (IMO).

OK so I wasn't the only one who automatically assumed there was going to be another ride marathon!! :)
I have to agree with Dan, why celebrate something that isn't all that great?

I would like to admit that I had a good ride on Mean Streak today.  Sat in 12 of the gold train and it wasn't bad at all, then again mindy hated it.
