I was considering a trip to the Point in the earlier season before it gets deathly hot. I remember two years ago going to CoasterMania the first weekend in June and those damn bugs were everywhere. This trip I'm thinking about (not CoasterMania) will include my Mother and I *know* she will not stand for all the bugs. Now I know that these swarms cant last too long, so my question is, typically, at what point in time do they disappear?

Frankly, they are both more plentiful early in the season, and tend not to be quite as bad in July and August....during the "deathly hot" times of the year.

Try setting up a pop-up camper with all those darn muffleheads. After dealing with the hassle the last two years, we are shacking at Breakers Express this year.
The muffleheads you are talking about at Coastermania have a short life life spand, about 3 - 4 weeks if I remember correctly from the info we were given at check-in at the campground. Obviously, that was the first weekend in June. We went back 2 weekends (actually Sunday and Monday) later that year and there was nary a mufflehead to be found, the weather was great and the crowds weren't too bad.
We went the Tuesday after Memorial Day last year and I don't recall seeing any Muffleheads but they were definately out in swarms for Coastermania.
Too bad you won't make it to Coastermania this year. Hope to see you sometime this summer.
