Money is the determining factor. Almost all decisions root back to money. Take the 5 cornerstones displayed in park operations for example:
Safety: Results in less lawsuits, saves money.
Service, Cleanliness, and Courtesy: Prevents people from getting pissed off, not coming back, and telling a lot of people not to go there.
Integrity: Keeps employees from stealing company property.
You can do the same for pretty much anything the park has done.
There was a time when the park didn't open for the season untill the week before Memorial Day. I've always maintained that there was never enough business in early May to warrent the opening of the park. While a park that looks like a ghost town may be an enthusiast's dream, it gives the front office indigestion.
