Maxx Plus Pass Question?

I have had a Cedar Point only Season Pass only two times, 2004 and this year 2006. I have never been to Soak City ever.

I want to go next year, a few times, but not have it be an all-day event.

My question is, with the Maxx Plus Pass, can you go between parks in the same day, meaning show up to Cedar Point in the morning (few hours, get hot), go to Soak City (few hours, cool off), bo back to Cedar Point, same day, then return to Soak City later in the day?

Is that how the Maxx Plus Pass works?

Yes. You will need to get handstamps as the pass is only good for 1 admission per day per park (I'm not exactly sure why).

Isn't it so they can get a more accurate attendance figure? (i.e. so they don't have to track the actual code, and can just track the quantity of codes scanned)

Probably, but it wouldn't be a major change to the system to allow passes to be scanned more than once per day.

Agreed. It seems that allowing season passes to be scanned multiple times would also allow them to get a better idea of how the per cap breaks down in terms of Funday vs Pass. For instance, if 50% of the passholders leave between 5-7, one could assume they might be eating off Point.

Wouldn't necessarily know when they leave, but you could track that they came in at 10 and 3 and 7.

I would guess that they only let a pass be scanned one time per day, so that it can not be handed off to someone else outside of the park so they could use it to get in as well.
I know it has your picture on it, but some friends/family do look enough alike for it to work, and you know damn well there's some jerks out there that would try it, or were trying it and that's when they came up with this policy.

I think they just started doing this a few years ago. I remember going in and out of the park and not getting a stamp and I would just scan my pass again to get back in.

This is exactly why Disney implemented the finger scanners. By linking a ticket to a real person, they can guarantee only that person is using the ticket. They can also track when you enter the park and what type of ticket you had. Or, what parks you went to next, etc....

If I was running CF, I would want that system on all of my tickets, but especially Season passes. Not only can you figure out your local guests, you can also see how people are using other parks, etc... For instance, if people from CP are going to Knott's and vice versa.

That's not so much a big deal on CP Funday tickets as it is with Disney. 99% of visitors are visiting Disney for multiple days and staying on site (this also includes SP holders).
Its the opposite for CP where most of the guests are one-dayers, so tying a ticket to a person won't matter so much because that ticket is only good for one day. It would only matter with SP holders.

I do like the idea of finding a better way to tie the SP's to the person entering the park. Another solution would be for the pass to "de-activate" for an hour after use. However, they could just get a handstamp and get back in, after giving the pass to a friend.

Didn't we have this exact conversation like three months ago?
