"Maverick" Wallpaper

As a small gift to my PointBuzz community, I made this "Maverick" Wallpaper... I know it's not "professional"... but I think some people may enjoy it...

The photography and artwork is mine, so don't copy it... but here ya go... It's in 1024x768... if you need it in something else, PM me and I will do what I can to help you out...

Nice job, Josh! Looks good. But what's that with the "N" in "Ride On"? The quote's nice, the lightning and track of the coaster look sweet :)

But yeah, I'm still unconvinced that this ride is going to be named Maverick. YES, I know of the patent. A Cedar Fair patent. Thus I really don't know where it applies.

It may be a side effect of whatever he did to that particular layer. I can't tell if he tried to emboss the letters seperately, or the whole layer. He definately did something with the blending options though, and that is most likely the culprit.

Oh my bad... I did an outer glow effect on the "Ride On" png, and it didnt blend right...

Yeah, as I said, it looks good, I was just pointing that out. I probably couldn't have done as well myself either ;)

Damn Josh, thats sweet! I wish i could do that. What program did you use to make that?

Adobe Photoshop, but I created the logo in Adobe Illustrator.

The 3 photos used are one outside my apartment during a storm last week, a picture of MF's lift recolored and rotated, and MF's first overbank recolored and rotated...

I wonder why so many people are skeptical about the Maverick name. Considering Maverick (for those of us who are old enough to know) was first, and foremost, a western moniker. And considering all the signs about "sidewindin'" "Bronco" and "Pardner", I think it's those who believe Maverick will NOT be the name who will be surprised.

And Josh, I think the wallpaper is great as well as your depiction of the kind of ride it may be.

I'm not saying it won't be named Maverick. It probably will be named Maverick. I'm saying that there is not really any way we can be 100% sure that the name is definetly going to be Maverick. If it turns out to be a different name, I think we're all going to feel a little stupid.

And by the way, Gmoney, the last time one Pointbuzz member told another to shut up, Jeff threatened to "bounce them like USA basketball out of the olympics" or something along those lines.

I think we have better odds of the coaster being named Maverick than what we would in Keno :)

If it does turn out to be somthing else, then fine. none of us are getting paid to be professional guessers. if thats what he wants to do more power to him what you said at the end of your last post "by the way nice job" should have been all you said.

And I hope you were kidding about the jeff comment. really.....

Who cares what its going to be called? Project 2007 by any other name is still Project 2007!

The name of the ride is probably one of the least important things about it (at least from the ride quality standpoint)

No need to apologize. You just stated what the rest of us were thinking when we saw it.

Its nice artwork, but I agree it would be pretty funny if after all the discussion and effort and whatever else for the name to be not "Maverick".
