Maverick Theming.

I'm just curious but are the caves and all of the themed areas going to be a reality or just for looks for the promo video. It doen't seem like there are any preparations for these areas. Well I'm sure they will add them later but it just seems a bit unusual.

I also wonder how CP will keep up this theming. It seems like it could be self-sustaining, but you never know.

They have an entire winter to add the theming to the ride. They have PLENTY of time!!

The only piece I have doubts on is the "coal" section on the first curve of the ride. But, I'm hopeful that it will all come to fruition.

I too have doubts on the coal section. I also have doubt in the cave section that the heartline goes through. The way they made it look in the animation seems like it would extend into TC's queue which would mean that theyd have to change the queue again.

I had the same thought about the cave protruding into TC's queue. I would like to think all of the theming comes into fruition and stays, but look at what happened to Dragster. Practicality always comes before theming it seems.

Can we set up a poll will they or wont they have the theming?

Well, yes, I don't think there's any serious argument there will be at least some theming. The question is, how much?

I personally don't care if they put much, if any themeing with Maverick, just as long as they plant some trees back there! :(

As for the coal tipple, P&D asked us for our clearance sometime twords the beginning of the season. This always means we are going under something. We would go under a loading chute if they put the tipple there. So we'll see...

I think they will put it in and keep it in. I would imagine that the only reason they would take it out or not put it in at all is because it may be a safety hazard for whatever reason. The theming on TTD ended up being a safety hazard. Apparently for some reason, the fog in Magnum's tunnels was also a safety hazard. I couldn't imagine anything on Maverick being a safety hazard as far as theming goes.

One time, after exiting one of the fog filled tunnel on Magnum, my eyes started to hurt.......I call that harm! ;)

It stunk like rotten eggs too.....not like how normal fog usually smells.

The themeing on Dragster was related to the themeing on the trains, not the general themeing. I suppose as long as Mavericks themeing has a good clearance and is a permanent structure, and only requires minimal maintenance, then it should be fine.

True. But guests don't go flying through the fog and other special effects in the show at like 40 mph haha. They just sit and watch from a distance.

I'll have to go with a definite "HUZZAH" for any creative theming ideas.

As much as CP is known for "thrill rides" as opposed to a "theme park" idea....the theming opportunities for Maverick are completely endless.

The caves and the coal are only a fraction of what creativity could come to fruition.
