I had gone up to the park at about 7:30 last night hoping to catch a ride on Maverick, walked past Dragster and decided to ride...only a 15 minute line. Walked over to Millenium and waited almost an hour; but here"s what gets me...We were by the entrance to Millenium deciding whther to ride or try to hit Maverick twice and we were told Maverick wasn't running. Got to the top of the lift hill and low and behold, it's not very lit up and very dead in the back of the park. I don;t know exactly how long it was down for. Did they just call it a weekend, does anyone know why they closed it? It scares me a little to think about. Rode it 3 times on Sunday and nothing else in the park justifies it. Please don't make me wait again...

What?
I was at the park last night, was over by Millenium trying to decide whether to get in line or walk back to Maverick. When my party and I were discussing it, someone overheard and butted in that Maverick was closed. Anyone know why?
I was in line when it went down around 7:30 and the line cleared entirely by 8:30 leaving just about 10 diehard fans left in the queue house. We waited it out as much as possible but my friend had to leave by 9:00 since it was a school night. We don’t know why it went down and we had no way to look for where maintenance was so we could gather and guesses. As we were going over the Edison Bridge at around 9:50 however, it looked as if the lift hill lights were back on since they weren’t on when she went down. But whatever it was, it was pretty serious.
In all, I think she still ran beautifully!

Maverick did close down at around 7:30-7:45 last night. They had to manually unload the riders who were in the brake run. As far as the actual issue goes. I have no idea. When I left the park around 9, there were several maintenance people, and other higher-ups on the platform.

We got on Mean Streak and sat on it about 3 times...the lift hill lights did come on at about 9:40. Got our hopes up, but we quickly realized that there was only about 20 minutes left and they probably weren't going to reopen it if they could. It just makes me wonder if they rushed getting it open and are kow feeling some consequences.
I know what you're saying about the school night thing, we left right at 10--didn't get to bed until 12ish and I'm feeling it right now.
^Same here......
Even though we got out of line at 9:00, we didn’t actually get out of the park until 9:30 since my friend wanted coffee from Sandcastle Suites and didn’t get home until 11:40. I went to bed immediately........well actually after arguing with my mom when she asked if she could have my fleece (not a chance;)).

See, that's just not good. It must've been a bad night, becuase when we got to the park and waited for Dragster; as soon as we got on and strapped in, we had a 15 minute mechanica delay, otherwise we got on and off within 10 minutes...ironic enough, that was at about 7:45.
Sounds like maverick is having its troubles, will prolly take a while to get all the bugs worked out of it.
Well, when I left after the park closed, all the trains were on the transfer track, so at least the trains were moved from the station and the blocks. That was the only major downtime that Maverick experienced all weekend that I know of, so all in all I think Maverick performed quite well for it's debut, considering it started in the pouring rain on Saturday.
I was very pleased with my experience on Maverick, I had a relatively short wait and the station experience was actually enjoyable. Still, no water bombs or smoke in the tunnel, but who can really complain?
It appears the ride is running this morning. Just saw a train on the lift, however there are what appears to be 2, or possibly 3 trains on the transfer track. The park is now open for Joe Cool, so either the line isn't needing all 6 trains, or there are some issues still. I know yesterday the Gun Metal train was transfered on and off several times.

It looks like there were 2 trains on the transfer track, but one of those has moved back, so maybe they're putting them all back on.
Just noticed that myself and was coming here to edit my post. Way to beat me to it Mark ;)

We dont have to call it by color anymore Josh. We can call them by name. So yesturday, they were pulling Brent on and off the transfer.:)
