Hello all,
Does anyone know if the stairs going up to the platform in maverick's que line is the same stairs that you used to walk down on to get to the platform for the old WWL? I was really having flashbacks as a kid running down those steps to the moving platform......man I miss those days.
They are. It is really cool how they used the WWL station for the Maverick. :)
Halloweekends is my FAVORITE time of year!!!
I believe the 1st set up to the landing before you go the rest of the way up to the station is the origional stairs. Im not 100% on this though. Obviously after the landing is new.
R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!
Yes, they are the same stairs. The main line is where you came down to get to WWL. The single rider line was the exit for WWL.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
^Actually they aren't. It's funny how the same building can look so different. Anyway, here are some pictures during the construction.
Here you can see that the staircase leading up to Maverick's platform isn't there.

A surprising thing to me was the bridge leading to the queue house. Most of it was already there, but the middle section is actually new.

The stairs are all brand new. You can view a photo of the gutted-out station on the CP blog. Check the November 3, 2005 entry.
The stairs are new. They aren't even in the same location. They are closer to the Maverick station than when White water landing was there. Also it is all new wood if you look at it up close.

It's really hard to tell even when you're up close. They did a really good job with matching the older structure. It's the best work CP has ever done in my opinion.

The stairs that lead directly to the platform, meaning Maverick's load platform, aren't the same either. While they're in the same location, they've been rebuilt.

Wow,
Thank you all for the inormation. I guess it must be pretty close to where the original stairs were for WWL. They did an awesome job matching all that wood just to keep the theme going over there.
It has to be said...
It's spelled "queue," and it by definition is a line. So when you say "queue line" you're saying "line line."
That's my PSA for the day.

You should tell that to Holiday World. They have signs in the park (I noticed it mainly at The Voyage) that say "queue line".
AHA - finally we have found something negative about Holiday World. I knew it was only a matter of time before we found it.
Goodbye MrScott

That and the "free" soda cups are too big.

Don't you mean too small? ;)
Actually if you go to Jungle Jake's in Splashin' Safari, they have larger than the average cups there. At least they did this past trip.

Ride on, MrScott!
All or most of the restaurant locations have bigger cups, but those in the drink-only stands are slightly smaller to accommodate the sip-and-go nature of people filling up there.
