Well, I dug up an old thread of mine (Maverick Pumpkin) because I didn't feel like I needed to start a new one. Anyway, this year I carved a Demon Drop pumpkin and thought that you guys might wanna take a look. Happy Halloween!

Whoops! I didnt know that you couldnt see it if you didnt have a facebook. Sorry I'll fix that.
Very nice. I use the same technique on my pumpkins so I know how time-consuming that is, haha. I'll have to do a CP one next year.

yeah, it did take a while, thanks a lot. :)
Looks great! I've tried to do stuff like that but it has never turned out that great for me.

i was worried about that too. but i guess it turned out pretty decent. thanks
I myself am better at smashing pumpkins than carving them . . .
Cool work, Corkscrew.
Edit: Oh no! I've entered the world of the Bold and the Restless.

Very cool. What technique did you use to scrape away the skin? I tried doing that for the first time this year since I had a lot of lettering and carving all the way through wasn't going to work. I ended up slicing the letters with an X-Acto knife and sort of digging out the skin with various tools... it was very awkward, took forever, and didn't work well! I'm curious how you did it.
I used a wood carving kit. I outlined it with one of the kit pieces that was sharp, and then used a curved edge wood carving tool to scrape away the skin. It did take a long time, though.
Hmm, that reminds me, I have a gouge tool for linoleum from a printmaking class I took. That probably would work too. Wish I'd thought of that. Ah well.
That is cool! I am glad you took pictures to share with us!
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
Very nice! I did a Maverick pumpkin last year, but I was way to lazy to scrape it out so I just carved it.
