renderings are preliminary sketches and animations that show the layout and general movement of the ride.
OK thanks. I see how it goes up and over the track now after watchin the video thanks guys, I was wandering about that

There's a stair that goes up and over the track. Check out the renderings or the webcam. You can sorta see it now with the really tall peaked roof.
I'm not sure if that's right or not. The rendering shows a staircase, but none of the construction pictures seem to show any evidence of one.
I'm still confused on how the trains are going to run in pairs.
TTD is built to run 6 trains (2 wait blocks; 2 unload blocks; 2 load blocks; 2 stage blocks). And the ride can't even run with six efficiently.
Maverick has the same setup minus the 2 unload blocks or am I wrong and does the ride have an unload block area.
EDIT: Actually, I forgot about Maverick having an extra block out on the course, that might solve things. *** Edited 3/14/2007 8:07:13 PM UTC by Gomez***

Doesnt the staircase go up to the platform under the peak and then you have to take stairs down. I.E.:The stairs go above the station and then you take a staircase down to ground level.
I would have to say no. Because, I belive the on-ride photo sales / display will be located within the WWL station.

Back to the air gates, I have poured some concrete for footers and such and in my experience it is easier and more secure to have everything in place then pour then spending the time to drill or core out a section of concrete.
Anchor bolts do hold, but with the abuse they recive from the operation of the gates and little snot nosed kids riding and jerking on them they would work loose fairly quickly.
It is my understanding as well that the unload will go over the track at the rear of the station and procede down under the stairs that lead up to the load side of the station and onward to the photo booth which will be contained inside the WWL building.
In this photo (http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/_upload/gallery/mvt144.jpg) you can see the break in the steel to allow for exit from the platform. You will then head to the back of the station, up some steps, over the track (you can see the landing is already constructed in the same photo), and then back down some stairs. If this isn't the exit of the ride, it has to be the entrance. Otherwise, they're loading and unloading from the same side of the train which I think is wrong. (Didn't Tony & Tyler already tell us they're loading from the left (of the forward motion of the train) and exiting from the right?
I think the stairs in this image (http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/_upload/gallery/mvt138.jpg) will be taken out. And, from the existing platform here, there will be stairs constructed that go up and into the loading station (where the photographer is standing). The ride photos would be located under these stairs on the first floor of the station. Then you'd exit out by the restaurant.
Seems like a lot of stairs, but at least that's how it works in my head. LOL!!
If you check out the "Point of View Animation" just as the train enters the station you can really see the exit as haltd describes it. *** Edited 3/14/2007 10:32:08 PM UTC by realmadrid311***
^No offense to Tim, but is that what is considered smart. I would say a little more extra observant and attention to detail.

Naw, he be smrat, and so be I!
eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!
Ride on, MrScott!
LOL. I'd agree with Craig. Part of being an architect is paying attention to detail and being extra observant. It helps that my job is to design things like that and supervise the construction of such designs.
EDIT: Btw, in this same image (http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/_upload/gallery/mvt144.jpg) you can clearly see the flange that will accept the exit platform. *** Edited 3/14/2007 11:43:59 PM UTC by halltd***
After viewing the update, it seems as though the "cave" on the turn after the "bunny" hill won't be there. After viewing I thought that that cave area looked the best with the wood banistre type things taking place as a type of roof.
Anyone know if thye will add it or not?
i wish there was some element of fire in all this. :) like kali river rapids at disney world...unless im getting this mixed up with another ride.
@ThePizzaMan
How can you infer that from the last photo update? This is the only semi relevent picture (http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/_upload/gallery/mvt142.jpg) and from this all you can see is that they are working on that area. I don't see any evidence that the cave will not be built here, they probaly just havn't gotten this far yet.
That piece of themeing along with the coal thing will probably be done last as they want to get the canyons and tunnel up first.
And you always beat me to it Tim!! Though it always seems we're on the same page when it comes to stuff like this.
See I’m not an engineer or architect, but I’m smart too! I discovered the seats remember!?:)
So I agree with Tim. Looking at the animations, you exit on the right side of the station, go out that opening in the steel, turn right, walk to end of the station, turn right, walk up and over the track, back down, then turn left, walk down, turn right 2 times, down stairs to ground level, then walk under the stairs into the station and exit right which should be where ever the photo building will be.
