Maverick Nickname

I was thinking mavie, since it shares the "ma..." with magnum, maybe it will end up with a nickname sounding similar to Maggie (and Millie).

How about Bob or maybe even Steve. Those are some nice nicknames.;)

I have always called it Mav. It is easy to type and cool to say.

I think the best nickname would be Pete Mitchell.

A Maverick who doesn't perform at crunch time. I know, let's call it Dirk.

Since nobody guessed, Pete Mitchell was Tom Cruise's character in Top Gun. His nickname was Maverick, so it only seemed logical to me that Maverick's nickname should be... well, you get it.

Tricky, but quaint, Ensign. I like it.

Hah, Ensign, reminds me how every time my friends and I waited in line for Maverick we tried to make as many Top Gun references as possible...

(as there's 4 of us before getting in line)
