Has anybody noticed that Maverick seems a little smoother this year than last year? Is this just me or has anyone else noticed a difference in smoothness with the ride?

I certainly did, it was much smoother yesterday. Really enjoyed my ride, and I swear the second launch was more powerful yesterday then opening weekend.

Also yesterday was my first time since it opened, I queued and rode Maverick without it breaking down while I was in line or on the ride.

Smoother as in they fixed the wheel problem? Last year the back wheels were giving off weird vibrations.

Some of the vibrations are still there. It did feel smoother than last year, though.

It could have been a wheel issue, because when I went this past Friday, there were a few yellow wheels on the trains.

^They often change wheels to get it to the correct speed. Different texture wheels are different colors, and have different speed characteristics.

The day I was there last year there was a constant rotation of 5 trains running and one getting it's wheels changed is that the case this year?

One of the trains still has vibration in the train that is more than just a small vibration. Very similar to last year....

My girlfriend on our last trip the 26th we had a Maverick ride like no other. It was much faster. If anything like driving a vehicle the coaster was in my best guess pushing 80mph.

We we're REALLY going through those horseshoe rolls....

We both said it as soon as the ride stopped...utterly shocked that the train was going that fast.

I think its smoother yeah, I didn't get the red lines on my neck as last year. And the launch seems faster, and more powerful.

I rode 3 times last night. Twice in the back and one front row. The back was slightly painfull. The front was really smooth and was a great ride!

I didn't ride it last year, but twice this year and it definately is a smooth,if intense ,ride. My son in law proclaimed it his favorite coaster after one ride. I rode with my arms up,but in the future I think I will hold on.The Gs were almost too much for this old body.'

I wasn't a huge Mav fan last year, but the ride was alot more enjoyable this year. It's probably just my new riding technique, but you never know, it does seem smoother.
