Maverick Commercials on Games websites

When I was playing some online games at shockwave and addictinggames.com i noticed alot of maverick commercials. Is this new? Are they targeting us, the online users?

They might be because I been seeing the Maverick commercial on aim lately.

i always see the firehawk commercial on aim. I've never seen the Maverick one on aim, but i have on tv.

I see them a lot on some videos before the video starts there is an advertisement, you know.

I don't think it's the "online users" per se, but more of the 15-25 demographic.

AIM Uses your zip code for advertising, That is why you see different ones. If your closer to KI then CP then im sure you will see more firehawk.

As for Shockwave it could be the same way certain ads say well Meet someone in NORTH RIDGEVILLE today... That has to do with the ISP you have. All in all I think its really creepy that they are can and are aloud to make ads like that using that information.

Running an e-commerce website like I do is different. I use that information for marketing. Yes the way the Information is collected is the same creepy way but the use is different.

I dont know... Anyway that is my thought on how the whole internet advertising works.

Sometimes they also use cookies/data stored from other sites. That should make your skin crawl.

^^ Marketing is marketing. If an ad pops up for "meet someone in North Ridgeville", "Ride Maverick" or "Shop at Allan's website", it's all the same. You're using the same creepy data as AOL at that point.
