Maverick best ride of 2007?

I haven't ridden Maverick yet (September 7th can't get here fast enough) but Mystery Mine was a blast.

Mystery mine? I'm going to dollywood soon to see how much maverick blows it away.

In my oppinion Maverick wins best ride in Cedar Point!
I have been on it a total of 17 times and it gets better everytime i ride it. I have been in every row including the back twice and the front 3 times. For me it dont matter where you sit its the same no matter where you ride. Go MAVERICK!!!!!!!

^ I disagree. I think the ride in the front is much differant that the ride in the back. I like the back better because of the whip you get over top of the first hill and the air time it produces.

You really can't compare Maverick to Mystery Mine. Like apples and oranges. MM is geared to to family. It is a goodfamily themed attraction. I really liked it. It was a lot of fun. When you ride it, do not think of Maverick. Enjoy MM for what it is.

The back row of Maverick had some weird vibration in it when we rode. It also threw my head around way more than in the front. I preferred the front way more than the back.

The front and back are both different ride experiences. I've been able to ride Maverick 5 times this season, and I must say that it is an amazing ride.

For a pure fun factor, it is #1 in the park. I also think that looking at Maverick is almost as fun as riding it. The launches (lift hill + tunnel) are amazing.

Personally, it tops MF in, as I said earlier, pure fun. But MF has a place in my heart all it's own!

To me, Griffon looks almost like a clone of SheiKra... and from what people have told me, it's not much fun. Oh well! I haven't been able to make it down to BGE, but that may be in the cards for next season, I'll have to keep it in mind.

I can't imagine a coaster that could be better than Maverick, Millennium Force, and Magnum. I haven't rode the Griffon but I think it doesn't look as fun as Maverick.

I totally agree. Mystery Mine as a coaster alone isn't all that. But add all the incredible theming and it's awesome. It was more of a coaster/dark ride to me.

Maverick on the other hand is just an incredible coaster, with or without any theming. It contains so many different elements, and that's what makes it great. And the back seat is where it's at!

I rode Maverick in the front seat one morning during ERT. My first four rides before that one were all at night in the dark in other various seats. When I rode in the front during daylight it was completely different. The front seat was excellent. A couple of weeks ago I rode Maverick in the back (as well as most of the other coasters that day) and the first drop was insane! It's tough to say which I prefer.

This year I've struggled to make it to Cedar Point this year because I work 2 jobs and it's hard for me to get a day off. So far I've made it up there 2 times and I've been on Maverick only 2 times. The only time I rode it was June 9th. I rode it in the afternoon after it reopened for down time and then later at night. The first ride blew me away, it was better then I thought it would be. Out of the whole ride my favorite part was launching up the hill and then going down the drop. I'd have to say my second favorite part of the ride is when the train goes through the tunnel and then Launch. By the way they did an excellent job on the lighting inside the tunnel.

I still rank Millennium Force as my #1 Steel coaster. You cannot change my mind on that. I made Maverick my #2 coaster before Magnum was my number #2 favorite coaster. Maverick is really great at night too. I think it's one of the best rides to ride at night without worrying if your going to get eaten by the bugs. Plus Maverick seems like it's flying faster at night too.

I would say after visting the park this past week, Maverick just might get Best Ride of 07. I think it will.

I think the title of best new ride goes to Griffon.
It's smother, taller, and in my option just more fun to ride and watch.
What hurts Griffon though is its down time.

Maverick in my oppion, is a "one trick pony" in the reride department.

The launches are the best parts of Maverick. It is a little rough and hard to handle. I would recommend riding Dragster and Meanie before Maverick to prepare for it.

This is my first time checking out this post and I have to say this comment is by far the dumbest I have seen in a while!! How stupid can you get. Maverick a one trick pony? Griffon has 2 drops and 2 inversions, thats it!!! lol Talk about a one trick pony.
Can you please be honest with yourself!

It absolutly should get best new ride! My 11 year old brother rode it once and fell in love! Plus i'd choose an Intiman ride any day of the week ;)

Hm... I never heard of a company called Intiman...

My 1st ride wasn't as fun as I would have thought. But I rode in the back. IMO it is much more fun in the front. It's a fun action packed coaster if you like this kind. But I still think Maggie, MF, TTD, WT are more fun. Just my opinion...Hey, have fun at CP, who gives a crap what I or others think!

I just got back from CP and i rode Maverick 3 times today!! Each time i rode it i only had to wait 30 mins-40 mins. I had two rides back to back both in the front seat at around 7pm and it was awsome!!!!!! The front seat has got to be the best seat on those trains! It was just incredible. Maverick will get Best Ride of '07! No Doubt.

You know its that company that makes lauching dive coasters that seat 15 across that go up 520 feet in the air. :)

I'm confident that Maverick this year will win a Golden Ticket award again this year.
