Screamscape is reporting that Disneyland is adding a "new" locomotive for their 50th Anniversary. The locomotive in question is our own Maud L which will operate as the Ward Kimball when it is refurbished.
I know these locomotives bounce around parks but I found this of interest. For those who don't know...Ward Kimball is one of Disney's original animators and he had a huge love of everything to do with trains. Like Walt, he even built a train in his backyard.
"You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world...but it requires people to make the dreams a reality."
-Walt Disney
I thought there was a deal made between CP and Disney which basically swapped the Maud L for the Ward Kimball.

Here's a good websight that gives information on how CP obtained all of it's engines.

There were 4 trains in the cp shop and 1 next to Wildcat. The one next to Wildcat was the Ward Kimball, George, Judy and Myron..what was the 4th train that was collecting dust in the shop? I read that webpage was it Jenny? Says it is in static display. Some people say Maud was still in the shop waiting to go to Disney I have no ideas if they were right just curious.

Check out his thread http://www.pointbuzz.com/cpplace.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=13817&page=1 The Ward Kimball(nee Maud L) has been sent to firm that specializes in locomotive boilers and restoration in nearby Carson, CA. It is expected to be ready for service some time during next year for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary.
According to this man named Chris Elpatric, Ward is currently being restored in the shop.

From everyone on the CP&LE, RIP Mayor Scott...~
I had heard that either Jennie K or Albert were going to be reworked. The Disney loco was operable but for reasons I don't have time to get into wasn't used in FL. *** Edited 12/4/2004 9:20:04 AM UTC by Dutchman***
Accordingto this web site http://www.steamlocomotive.info/F22004.cfm it says that there is a train that runs during the off season is that true

Read it a little closer. It says that the trains run every day that the park is open to the public. I'm aquainted with the author,Jeff Terry. I supplied him with information for this article. I'm credited at the end of the article. *** Edited 12/4/2004 7:34:41 PM UTC by Dutchman*** *** Edited 12/4/2004 7:35:39 PM UTC by Dutchman***
