Well we all know there were plenty of threads talking about the pre-announcement "hype" for this ride, but what about now that it's been announced?
I think CP is doing a great job so far with the marketing. They put up large signs in the two most logical places surrounding the project area, they're handing out little Maverick inserts in the park map when you pay parking, and they've certainly exceeded my expectation with the website design and content...
Do you think they're doing a good job? What can they improve on? What do you hope to see happen before May?
Maybe they took a few classes from Trump University ;)

I can't imagine what else they will do (aside from the webcasts and construction diary). Everything I thought they would slowly release throughout the off season (wallpapers, icons, multiple videos) is already there. It is REALLY well done what they did, and I must say I am impressed.

So far, everything about Maverick has exceeded my expectations. That goes from the ride right on through to the website. The website itself has a feel of polish and sophistication that is well beyond what I've seen as typical for a ride announcement, and the content is top notch.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Uhh, how did BGE drop the ball?

Yeah, that countdown was really stupid. If you're going to put a timer like that on a page, at least get close on the update. Between CB and PB there were probably a couple thousand people trying to get the page that wasn't updated yet. That's really poor execution. It would have been much better to never have the timer than to botch it up.

Yeah, Snakes on a Coaster!! That should be the sequel! :)
I agree with everything that has been said about the website. My first glimpse, which was at 6am or so, caught me by surprise. They have an entire subdomain for Maverick, as well as a very well done site containing all the things that have been mentioned before. It's simply a job well done on the behalf of the Cedar Point IT Dept. (or whomever is responsible).
In summary, they did a very thorough and impressive job on this one. Everything else is really icing on the cake, the signs and all are something that Cedar Point should be highly commended for. From what I recall they have never yet done anything this well.
So maybe this really does mean that Cedar Point is redevoting themselves to theming... Hopefully, and I stress that word, hopefully, they will do a superb job with erection as well as maintenance this time. I just don't wanna see another Disaster Transport around the Point, especially seeing as so many want that torn down.
But my first vote goes to tearing MS down. My first ride, end of last month, I was just thinking, tear down this darn POS! :)
