Marathoning

Is it just me, or are more people marathoning coasters on here this year? I'm sure it's been done in years past, but has anyone else noticed a lot more posts in TR and such about marathoning? And we're not quite half way through June! I can't wait to see some records and numbers come Halloweekends!

I think the crappy early season attendance has been a big factor. Short to non-existent lines tend to encourage this type of behavior among coaster geeks.

I like the marathoning when I'm by myself on a dead day. Only wish CP would change their reride policy. I know they want numbers, but give us a break! Just ask guests to tell them how many extra times they rode and add it to total.

I would love to have a "true" marathon at CP.

For me,I like to know what I can endure. Where is my cutoff. It's a great feeling to say "I did it"

My true marathon record is 2hrs 45 min on Chang. I don't recall how many laps it was. Total for the day was 93.

I marathoned Batman at ST Louis for 2 1/2 hrs once

I know Dan will get the Magnum again. But it is getting harder. Only a couple of more Sundays that will be dead enough for it. And will be open long enough. I know the week before Labor Day will be dead, but due to short hours,I don't think it will be possible. After this month, the only way to top 100 will be Millennium Mania if they let us reride as last year.

Reriding is easier. Those long walks around on Magnum take their toll. My knee is still bothering me.

I'm sure we will see more of marathoning in future. Just blame Dan & I!! LOL
